Brand new coyote hunter here live in Stark county and hunt deer in Belmont, getting into mainly to protect my deer herd in southern Ohio. However the more I read about it the more interested I think I get and would really think it will be a great way to "extend" my hunting season.
My initial setup will be a .222 with a 4-12 power leupold on it passed down from my grandpa, and I just got my Foxpro Spitfire in the mail today that I snatched on a tahnksgiving online sale at Cabela's. I wanted to get something that could get me started and see how much I like it before I sink a ton of money into a good caller.
This is what I will be starting with, and hoping I can have some success quickly as the dogs I will be after aren't hunted at all that I know of other than getting shot at by the occasional deer hunter.
Are tehre any other non-expensive must haves? I am a slight scent control freak, and know how to play the wind which I am sure is extremely important. I am sure I will screw up more than I do right for a while!
