BCA?

My first experience:

I pulled the last shot (5 shots) in the attached photo yesterday.

I have messed with three other BCA's 243's owned by friends since and they all shot 1.5-2" groups (factory ammo) until I loaded for them and figured out what they liked which is to be 10-20 thou of the lands with 80-90 grain bullets, regardless of powder and primer.

PS: I have only messed with the AR10's in 243 three w/ the HBAR 20" and my 24" Lightweight SS with 8 twist guest gun.

Hit or miss, along with AR stoner from midway, which is rebranded bca stuff mostly. I got a couple stoner barrels right now and the stainless grendel barrel looks and shoots fantastic so far, and the carbine 223 wylde shoots ok but haven't found the magic load yet. You can count on them being over gassed, especially with a can on.

Thanks guys, I'm dipping my toes into the 6.5 grendel pond on the cheap, ordered their complete stainless 20" upper.
Will post a progress report after a few range trips..

My 20" stainless barrel is shooting 1.25" groups at 200 yds with the cheap AAC factory ammo, sabre black tip, and otm, available at palmetto for 15 bucks a box.

I am having trouble duplicating that accuracy so far with 123 amax and any powder except 8208 which is leaving pretty good swipes suppressed when loaded at the charge weights that gives great accuracy.

I recommend an adjustable gas block if you're suppressed especially.

This is what my bca 243 24” light weight contour. I swapped the stock trigger and grip on it. And u might as well get a new firing pin right away too. I went into knowing these thing have a horrible reputation. But figured I’d have lots of parts to start a build with. And to be honest the if u just swap out a few things there’s nothing wrong with them. Mine has shot just about everything I’ve put in it pretty darn good. The 58’s shot and cycle awesome the 108’s shoot awesome but I’m having cycling issues with it. I need to get an adjustable gas block for it. I don’t believe that to be a bca problem that’s just an ar problem.

I bought enough of them to know the some shoot great and some don't. Some need repars due to poor QC and assembly and some don't.

I've also bought X-Caliber, Ballistic Advantage, Wilson Combat, Trijicon, Vortex and many others that had issues and QC problems too.

BCA was difficult to reach but did take care of the issue once I talked to someone fairly quickly, but Trijicon and Ballistic Advantage were the worst to deal with, enough that it will be a while before I'll use any of their stuff and I'll try to talk someone out of buying their products.

I have the BCA 18” Heavy Stainless fluted Grendel upper. After extractor and firing pin replacement (both out of spec and happily replaced by BCA) it is one my my favorite uppers. It’s heavy but accurate with 123gr ELDM hand loads. The “for-the-price” accuracy is outstanding, .5”-.75” @ 100 yds. It does NOT shoot 100-108gr well.

anybody have experience good/bad with ordering from www.bearcreekarsenal.com ?

My 1 experience was good. Had issues with a discount code and my payment going through on their website so I had to call them. The lady was super nice and got everything fixed for me. I feel like this is what you are inquiring about??? Shipping and delivery to MI were really fast too. Anyway, the rifle shoots great. I'm really happy with it so far.

I have went back and forth on buying a 6Arc upper from BCA. They are cheap enough thats for sure. But that alone concerns me.

Bought a 6.5 grendel upper from BCA a couple months ago. Shoots great and was cheap enough that if it didn't and I had to send it back, I wouldn't cry myself to sleep at night......

EDIT: attached picture was during barrel break in and I was using cheap 123gr FMJBT Hornady store ammo

Best handload so far, 1 moa 5 shots at 100 yards, using 95 gn VMAX over 8208.
Also Sierra 130 TGK over 8202 did well, but so, far best factory ammo has been 2 moa.

My 243 ar10 struggled with 108 eld m functioning. I put a armaspec silent capture spring in it. That did nothing then I put a sa adjustable gas block and now they function perfectly.
