BCA?

Got the upper in this morning.
Overall looks it looks good, didnt see any major things that stuck out like assembly marks etc at least on the upper and handguard.
Put it on one of my Anderson lowers I have built and it fit well and is tight.
The side charging handle is pretty slick and I do like its function and also how much cleaner it makes the rifle look.
Stuck the borescope down the barrel, and you can tell its not a high end type barrel was a bit on the rough side but ill see how it shoots in stock form before doing anything major to it.
I do prefer my ARs to not have a lot of barrel showing so ill probably end up putting a 17" handguard on it down the road soon...just a looks thing for me.

Will have to pick up some ammo at BPS this weekend on my way through as no one around here in town has any.
I also realized today that I didnt order any Mags for it. So just ordered 2 5 round mags earlier this morning from ASC.
Waiting on a scope mount I ordered a few days ago just to toss one of the cheapo scopes I have in the safe on it for a shooting test.
Anyway...Post is worthless without pics right

Bought a 16” BCA side charge 6.5g on Gunbroker. Including shipping and tax, was less than $200. Have only shot a few rounds through it, no accuracy testing. In terms of quality, on par with PSA. Recently decided to mount a thermal on it for hogs and yotes.

Shot my Grendel over the weekend. Pulled the scope off and substituted my thermal. Also threw my Omega 300 on it. The action cycled perfectly, although there was some discharge through the ejection port due to the increased back pressure. Did not experience any blow back to the face. Interesting chrono results. 123 Hornady SST factory loads averaged 2464 fps. The 100 gr Hornady was faster, 2731 fps, which matches Hornady’s quoted velocity.

IM hoping to shoot my 6 Arc upper from BCA this weekend.
Have had so much going on that I cant get to the range. Had to order Mags and Ammo for it also so waiting on them too, hopefully they will be in today.

Here’s some reads for you that I posted a few years back. If you get a good one, they shoot pretty good. I can tell you I haven’t shot either of mine since I did my postings on these just because I have other guns I use instead. Somebody gave me a BCA 18 inch 6.5 Creedmoor barrel the other day. Said they bolted it on and tried to random load through it and got about 6 inch groups with 20 shots out of it and took it off and threw it in the closet. I told him to send it back and have them swap it with another one and they didn’t wanna do it and just gave it to me. I don’t even have any 6.5 reloading stuff so it’ll probably sit in the closet and collect dust or I’ll just order another one and swap it with this one since it shoots half foot groups at 100 yards. I trust the shooter, so I’m sure the barrel has issues. I don’t know if I’ll ever use a 6.5 Creedmoor 18 inch heavy barrel for anything. 243 posts I linked below both shoot very good with light bullets. Never tried anything other than 55 and 60 grain bullets because I wanted something sighted in about an inch to an inch and a half high at a 100 yards and can still aim on fur out almost 400 yards. They were something that I’ve always wanted till I got them and then they sit in the safe and collect dust. I’ll have to get them back out and play with them someday. The first one in heavy barrel shot really good. The second one in the 22 inch sporterized barrel version I had accuracy issues so I sent it back in and they swapped it with one that shoots pretty darn good. There was just a lot of drama and it took almost a year to get a replacement because they stopped making them at the time. Apparently, I waited almost a year for the six or eight that they had sitting on the shelves that were marked in their warehouse that they were pulling out and testing one by one. I had to arm wrestle them over the phone to get them to send me the last one. They tested that shot one point 8 inch groups at 100 yards. They said they didn’t wanna send it to me because it wouldn’t pass the MOA guarantee. I told him I didn’t care since they weren’t making them anymore and I would rather have something than nothing so they sent it to me. I can see in my second post. It was a shooter and the reason why they were having trouble with testing the six or eight that they had there and weren’t passing is because they were using a random powder charge with a junky bulk full metal jacket projectile to test accuracy.

I did do a quick cleaning and looked in that 6.5 creedmore barrel with my "naked eyes". It's obviously impossible to tell without a bore scope but it sure looks like there might be something funky going on in there. Almost looks like there's lines cut in the rifling like something got screwed up when it was cut.

I recently bought another BCA upper in 223 wylde. 18" heavy barrel with spiral flute, right side charge. Bought a couple hundred 55gr Winchester 223 fmj's. Put a 4-16x44 vortex diamondback tactical scope on and slapped it onto a PSA lower. For a less than $250 upper, this thing shoots awesome, with zero issues. Ordered a few boxes of AAC 77gr OTM to see if it this thing can stretch out past 400 yards... More pics coming soon
