FRIDAY NIGHT MUSIC THREAD...

Hooked...
I posted Charlie Daniels "Legend Of Wooley Swamp" on another forum last week. Hahahahaha
Otherwise, I would've been posting it last Friday, here...and beat ya to the punch. Hahahaha

I'm working on this week's choices right now. Hahahaha

Yeppers, he can still hit the notes.

I always thought it was too bad that DeYoung & the rest of Styx couldn't solve their issues.

The issues have even caused the omittance (is that a word?), on Styx's website, of any mention of Deyoung ever having to do with the band. Yet, the band still plays songs written & co-wriiten by him, in their concerts.

What makes it even sadder is that he was one of the original "pre-Styx name" founders, and writers.
Now the only founding member left in the group is Chuck Panozzo.

I admit that my views are biased. I was a huge fan between '76-'83. At one point I owned every LP from Styx to Caught In The Act.
And seen them during the Kilroy Was Here tour in Fall of '83.
The last album (which was in cassette form) of theirs that I bought was Edge Of The Century, which came out in '90. I wasn't overly impressed.

I saw an interview once, shortly after dennis had left. James, tommy & one other were there & asked about being without Dennis.

one of them said something along tghe lines of "Now we're not constrained & we can really rock..."

and I'm thinking "Really? After years of platinum albums & success, you're a bunch of old rockers still going and NOW you're gonna rock?"

while they still sound great & the new guy has the vocals, in terms of new material from them I can't say I've really seen anything. they keep touring on the old stuff.
