Bit of trivia on this song:
Back in the late 70's, after Kansas had made it big & was using a lot of effects in their live shows they got approached by someone with an idea. He came up with the idea that when Robbie sings the line "I command, the lightnings hand!!!" it would be really cool if a bolt of lighting would shoot down.
So he had some sort of gizmo to mount up in the overhead lighting & Robbie would have his violin bow connected to a ground wire which would be concealed in his clothes & drag on a ground metal mesh on the stage that he would be standing on.
The band thought "Oh yeh, that sounds pretty damned cool! let's try it out!"
They met with the guy & set up a stage where they could test it. They all set up & played the song.
And when they came to the first time Robbie sang the line, a bolt of lighting shot down & hit the bow. And Robbie was knocked flat on his ass & smoking. He was basically knocked out, eventually he managed to get back to his feet & stumble off.
And that dream died on the vine LOL
