FRIDAY NIGHT MUSIC THREAD...

Same with this one. Who would have ever thought that Tommy Shaw of STYX and DA_MN YANKEES would be playing The Opry singing bluegrass/gospel? Tommy has really came back to his Montgomery, Alabama roots with this latest album.

Sorry for the poor sound ... you gotta turn the sound WAY up.

You can thank one of my sons for today's picks. ('Course, if I hadn't played the song constantly when he was a kid 20 years ago....hahahaha).

He brought up this first song yesterday evening, and I haven't been able to get it out of my head since.......

That's a far cry from Tommy Shaw I seen with Styx in 1983, during the "Kilroy Was Here" tour.Hahaha

Yeah, he's like some other rock stars that finally realized they are human and the end of life is nearing. I saw an interview about a year ago where he said he had been raised around bluegrass and gospel, and that he had always wanted an opportunity to revisit it. His album "The Great Divide" is really an eye-opener into his creativity and passion for this style of song.

Here's another one for you. Plain and simple with no amps or effects. Just raw. Most people didn't realize that Tommy can play just about anything with strings ......

I remember Vixen...they were kind of a 1-hit wonder type band (IMO).

How do you guys post your links the way you do, instead of how I do it?

If someone would be kind enough to send me a message on how to do it, I would be very grateful, thanks.

Even if you aren't into Broadway musicals, check out this 1st one.....Recorded in Toronto's run of the play.
IMHO, not bad for a man who has been deaf in his right ear since birth, and is known only for bombastic rock.

And since it's my birthday today.......

Had to post something...not sure why this come to mind but perhaps I just miss the `80`s a little and the carefree life of those times for me.

Back in 1986 my girlfriend gave me that Motley Crue album. I was a little skeptical at the time, having a preference for older classic rock, but through the years really come to enjoy it..back then everyday was happy hump day..lol
Think my favorites are 10 seconds and knock `em dead kid.
Some of that old classic music here with some cool pictures.
I seen on the news that the Northern Lights (technical name too hard to spell) would be able to be seen from parts of Nebraska due to solar flares, but it was way past my bedtime...darn it. maybe someday...would like to see this
