My Burris BTS auto shutters every 2 minutes, I can switch shutter calibrating. The other shutter calibrating settings require the lens cover shut, starting calibration is a touch to power button. I didn't want to accidentally start a shutter calibration, while hunting or moving rifle. This hasn't been a problem, but if I can get a mdvr and cable I may have to change so video is not interrupted for 2-3 seconds.

It's not a coyote, but-------I've been wanting to shoot some video with the Wraith mini that I got on a Black Friday sale. I really like this little scope, but with thermal it doesn't get any night time use. I plan to take it for a stroll deer hunting next fall on my 6x45 with 70 gr. Nosler ballistic tips. It shoots them consistently into nearly one hole. It doesn't do quite that good with the 58 V-max, but it wasn't too bad on this crow.

Good stuff DU! Nice video from that Wraith!

I left my Wraith on the 20p AR for the Montana pd run last summer. Slowed up my shooting the first day. I kept replaying the shots. Almost like getting 2 for 1 out of each round reloaded(I will have to tell the wife how I saved money shooting pd).

Feather shower for sure!

Reminiscent of my son's turkey, shot with his .416 Rem. Wish I had had video camera to capture the resulting 15' plume of feathers, but you get the idea.

POI was where neck joins body so no loss of meat.

HM, your son sounds like mine. He shoots deer and hogs with a 375 H&H.

I have shot turkeys with a 7mm Remington Mag, with no damage to the breast. The vitals sit high and forward in the back as you know. A bullet in the proper place leaves a nice, clean breast. Feathers are a different matter.

Yeah, Dave, my son uses his DGR for most everything, just changes bullet/ammo as suitable. His first love is buffalo, lion & leopard; says it keeps him more proficient w/that rifle between Africa trips and he is quite proficient w/his.

He's even shot a number of coyotes with it when he visits home. Funny story last time we hunted coyotes together, we were hunting in the corner of an outer boundary fence. A very productive stand for me where the coyotes usually come from neighboring ranch, crossing our east fence, which is grown up w/bushes. I pointed out their favorite crossing to him and set up w/my rifle on sticks covering that crossing. Sure enough coyote crossed @ predicted spot at the trot. As soon as the coyote burst out under my crosshairs I shot, his (416) shot sounded at the same instant. Coyote DRT, son knew he was on it and didn't hear my (.223) shot at all. I saw big dirt fly right where coyote had been. Guess the 3000 fps 223 won the race over the 2400 fps .416, as there was only one tiny hole in the coyote.

You know the old saying, beware the man w/only one rifle.

Good read HM, thanks. All time spent with fathers and sons outdoors is time well spent. My LUCK continues to improve. Got two more fawn eaters last night. My first redhead.

I tried a high shoulder shot expecting a bang flop. When I didn't get it I thought I might have got a "splash". Didn't take long to send more lead.
