Anyone load this in 243 or 6 Creed? How does it perform on paper targets and predators?

Was thinking about picking some up and trying them in my 243 (24" barrel) and 6 Creedmoor (26") with 8T using 6.5 Staball and H4350.

I just loaded some the other day. I did 45 grains of H4350 and that bullet in a 1:8 twist Seekins 24in 6 creed. With hornady 1x fired brass I was getting 3417fps and with alpha 1x fired brass I was getting 3470 fps. Accuracy was sub MOA at 100 yards. I haven’t had a chance to shoot any animals with it yet.

Just updating on this load combo again. 1x fired alpha LRP brass, fed 210, 45 and 45.5 grains of H4350. Did 10 loads at each charge weight and the 45 grain load shot around an inch. The ext spread was a little higher than I like, around 45 fps. I still don’t think it’ll make that big of difference inside of 600 yards.

The 45.5 gr load was horrible, around 2.5 inches with over 80fps of ext spread. Ran into pressure with that load too. Velocity between 3500-3520 if I remember correctly.

It seems to me that 3450fps and below is where my gun shoots them best. I’m going to load 44.5 grains and see what that does. If it doesn’t shoot better, I might change primers or abandon the bullet all together.

shooting 243 and tested 80gr Eldvt, 87gr Vmax on paper, very good and sub Moa @ 3400fps on bolt rig. Went with 87gr for price, both shot very good groups but @ 2x the price. The juice wasnt worth the squeeze to me, Im sure they would do damage on coyotes

What barrel length? Even in a BA pushing the 87 V-Max @ that velocity with anything 24" or shorter is hot.

I just got the Staball 6.5 and haven't got to try it yet so not sure how far it can be pushed before pressure signs appear.
I’m using 46gr staball 6.5. Started on 50 cases for load development and shot just those cases all summer. I’m around 7-8th firing no split necks or blown primer pockets

Here’s a coyote shot with the 80 ELD-VT this morning. 130 yards into the chest with no exit. Impact velocity should have been at 3000 fps. Coyote was DRT and I could not find a spec of blood on him. Pushing on his chest, I could feel everything was shattered inside.

Update on the bullet. These things seem to be finicky with my Seekins ph2 barrel. For me, they don’t like to be shot on a dirty barrel and they like to be seated long. My previous load of 108 eldms shot in a dirty barrel and didn’t care about wearing depth.

I had a load worked up for these 80 gr eldvts and they completely fell apart for groups at range.

Cleaned the barrel and let my ammo cold soak in 13 degrees today before I went to shoot. My groups tightened up and so did my extreme spreads.

Zeroed at 200 and planning on hunting tomorrow.

I’ve tried these bullets in my 243 and 6mm creedmoor and they are all over. Both rifles are 8 twist. The 243 had them keyholing. The 6creed has them at about 10” groups. I have only tried one powder 6.5 staball. I don’t understand what I’m doing wrong they shoot extremely well out of my partners 6arc and that is a 8 twist. But they are moving at a snail pace of 2700.

I’ve had more consistent luck with them under 3470 fps. I can shoot them well with 1x fired hornady brass going 3350 fps but they’re finky with 1x fired alpha brass. The alpha brass produced faster speed and I backed it down a little. Surprisingly, I didn’t have the sporadic issues anymore.

Ok last one and I’ll shut up on this thread for the day. Shot this female at 790 yards with the 80 eldvt today. I made a good wind call for once and sent the bullet into the vitals. No exit and only a bullet sized entrance. She died in about 60 yards. There was absolutely no blood trail though. The link is my trigger cam video of the shot if anyone cares to see.
