Your Pic of the Day

I had our very own SeanE whip up a lightweight little belt knife for me to use camping and backpacking. He experimented with micarta and came up with this. It's light, handy, and carries tight to the body in his kydex sheath with clip (for easy transition from belt to pack strap). I'm a fan.

Lets see if i can post this video. So i heard a cat screaming from a distance this morning and hustled over there as quick as i could, but within a few seconds of me getting there and pulling my phone out it went silent. Never did see it, im sure it busted me and snuck out through those rocks. Im 90% sure it was a lion but couldve maybe been a bobcat. Any opinions? Fwiw, there are a ton of lions around here, id say theyre more common than bobcats by a wide margin. Season is closed on both, but i couldnt resist hustling over there when i heard it pitching a fit. Just wanted to see it.

Damn it, file too large.

Definitely on the cusp of her being able to walk me to death instead of the other way around!

For as many pictures your cameras have captured of lions, I would bet on it being a lion. Consider the ratio of lions versus bobcats. Maybe when the bobcats do show up they are there to direct traffic! :ROFLMAO:

Both here at home, and everywhere around on public land, i get at least 10 lion pics per bobcat pic
For the record, this encounter today was in the national forest, not on my property. And shortly before i almost got ran over by a big damn bear i cornered accidentally under a cliff. Almost shot him, thought he wanted a piece of me. But by the time i had my gun drawn and pointed at him he turned, made it obvious he wasnt attacking, passed by me broadside at no more than 5 yards. He just had to run at me for a second to get around the point of the cliff and run away. But i really thought he was after me as i was pulling my gun. If ida been 1 second quicker hed have got lead. Exciting morning!

Don't know if their diet caused arthritis or not. But I think if you lived to be old going up and down those cliffs your whole life you'd likely be knock kneed.

But actually @Sprinkman is right. That's just an artists rendering of me...
