Your Pic of the Day

It's all good. I'm fine, just waiting to see what the storm does & figuring out how to best deal with making the trip back through the impacted areas. Probably be some problem solving along the way but it should be fine

I wanted to dive more but I got over 330 minutes in 6 dives, including 2 that were over 120 minutes each & that's not bad. Spent time with friends, met some new people, water was 86 - 87 degrees, now I got a hurricane to boot LOL

I've had far worse vacations lol

I think today will have a lot of traffic heading north to help out.

The route isn't blocked but that doesn't tell me anything about power outages. I'm still going to take extra gas with me sunday

Went on I10 just after the last one, main blockage was cleaning up the trees that were down. Next trip, most of the tree areas between E/W bound were just grass.

Great buck there Clarence, what would you do if you didn't have senderos for shooting? That vegetation looks impenetrable
Fortunately there are some clearings that have been roller chopped we can hunt edges, but they grow back pretty fast given enough moisture and always roadways, pipelines and power senderos. Mostly flat but a few very low "hills" where you can get a little elevation; that's why you see lots of towers in S TX. Above picture is some of the more open spots; uncleared areas go from this, to---------------------------------->this:

Nature will reclaim it's own pretty quickly. That buck with the growth on it's neck could do with a good laceration to relieve that accumulation of pus!

another 11 1/2 drive. Road stoppages - 2 wrecks & a lane closed on I-10 due to heavy equipment being used on the north side to work on something under the bridge- were at least an hour total, plus 1 coffee/food stop that took 20 minutes grrrrrrrrr and 2 failed attempts to get coffee once on I-10. Both times McD's was closed. Not closed because we're cleaning up, I mean not a soul on premise & not a single light on inside closed.

I-75 from the turnpike to I-10 was clear. I saw a lot of downed limbs & trees from north on Gainesville to I-10.

From I-75 west on I-10 to about Tallahassee there was a lot more destruction. Limbs, trees, metal roofing, signs snapped off or twisted. Some of the downed trees came right up to the interstate & had been cut back just enough to not be in the lane, but both roads were clear.

a cybertruck passed me on the FL turnpike today. About 6' on my left.

Damned fugly thing, looks like it should be towed by a real truck & should pop up like a camper.
