What’s your go to predator rifle?

New guy from sw Kansas . Friend talked me into having a 6 creed built on a 700 action. Killed a bunch of coyotes with it the last couple of years and love it . Usually carry a savagy223 in the pu while checking cattle and it’s a shooter also.
I actually had one ordered from POF a 6 creed. I waited a year and nothing. Then couldn’t get a call back or a email reply. I don’t think too much of them. (POF). Guesses it worked out as I learned what I could then built my own. I sure like specs of 6 creed.

This is my baby. Browning 22-250 Predator edition X bolt. I love it but fluffy here didn’t.

My favorite has been a 700 in 243 (pictured) that I had the SS action trued with a Jeweled bolt, installed a Trigger Tech, Magpul hunter stock, and using a 20" CBI barrel with a 10T. However, I built a couple AR10's in 243 that I'm currently using and my grandson started hunting with me so he will be using an AR 15 in 6x6,8 SPC. 96% of our hunting is done at night from Nov-March. We use thermal and everything is suppressed.

That’s good stuff. Sure wish I could have hunted with my Gram Pa.

Honestly, I don't have a "favorite ". I just open the safe and try to grab something different from the last time.
I do that catfishing. Have several different rods/reels and change out every trip! If I still had a 22 CF I'd likely change out there every trip also.

CZ 527 16" barrel 223 9 twist is what I use most because it is lite and handles well. This year I am going to switch back and forth between a 204, 222 and 223 for something different. I have tried a 22-250 but don't see the need as I kill way more fox than coyote. All bolt guns.

I usually have a couple in the truck when I go out and it really depends on the terrain and how far I plan to hike.

If I had to pick it would be a Savage 10 in 22-204 I built it in 2005 and it is topped with a Sightron ll 1.5-6x40mm scope. It doesn't go out much anymore but if I get in a slump it will pull me out of it.

Second would be my drilling 16ga/16ga/6.5x58R, I think because it is so unique. Most of the coyotes have been killed with the shotgun barrels. It is topped with a Leupold 1-4x20mm and handles like a DGR.

Two lightweights, Sako vixen full stock 222 Rem Leupold 2-7 Compact. Rem 700 short pencil barrel in 20P Leupold 1.5-5x20

Two heavies Stevens 200, 20P, Athlon 2-12x40ish, Rem 700 22-250AI Bushnell 4200 2.5-10x40

Honorable mention, Rem 788 222 Rem Bushnell 4500 1.25-4 and Sav 10 223 Rem same scope.

I think any rifle you shoot well works.

Old coyote trapper, I've never tried the hornady 100 gr vmatch for the 6.5 creedmoor.. once I shoot up the 95gr vmax I might try a box to see how they compare in accuracy.. I seen midway had the 100gr vmatch for around 28-29$ a box

I have a pair of 243's for day and night, both DPMS G2, which are much lighter/smaller than the typical AR-10 but not as small as a 15. Both lasers with 87's, one the bthp, the other Vmax. IMO those G2's should have caught on in a big way but Rem took DPMS down with them.

True gotta go with what works
