Is the copper for some sort of way to protect the barrel? I can’t think of any reason for it except to add expense to the shot. You sure it’s TSS shot?

I shoot NP BBs, an oz in my 2.5" 16s and 1.1/4 oz in my 2.75" 12s they seem to work well inside 40. I will say that I shoot them out of combo guns so I don't have to stretch the range. They pattern well in my guns and they are all fixed chokes. My chokes are all well broke in as my combo guns are 50.to 100+ years old
