I like to loop around the upper jaw/snout, half hitch around lower jaw and in thick cover half hitch around front legs pulling the up to the jaw. It streamlines them so they don't hang up. I like my drags long enough to wrap around and my waist for long drags or using trekking or ski pole or just to keep from having to grip the drag handle for a long time, arthritic hands.
Thank you for the drag. You not only called in the coyote for me, you also gave me the drag and then dragged it back to the truck yourself. It was a big dog for southern NM.Gave one to my hunting partner this morning and we broke it in this afternoon.
Ive used a lot of drags for deer and preds. I like the center pull handle unroll as much as you need, put a half hitch around it. Roll up the cord to store. Again wrap around the waist and it lowers the pulling point so less strain on the body. With the long cord you can hook up multiples so they follow in the track of the front one less chance of snagging in the brush and in the snow pull much easier. With the long cord you can pull clearing your skis or snowshoe tails.
