Hornady 62 eld-vt

I ordered some of the 62 eld vt and will be trying them in a 1:9 twist 18" 22 creedmoor. I have been playing with the 69 tmk, but thought I may try these and see how they do. Currently at 39 grains of varget for the tmk, guessing about 40 grains for the eld would be about rite.

Will post results when I get them going. Anyone else trying them?

Yeah, last night 69 tmk at about 3480 was pretty rough on them.

Loaded up some alpha srp brass 22 cm with varget from 39-39.8 grains will see what happens. Then maybe get them on some dogs in the next week or so.

Yesterday I got out and loaded up a little hotter string from 39.9 to just over 41 grains of varget in the alpha brass. I may have some thing to play with at about 40.8 grains and 3620 fps. Will load some more up today and run that area of powder again and just see.

I tested a few loads in my 22" 22 Creedmoor 1:8 twist at a 100 yard indoor range, Garmin Xero chronograph. New rifle I picked up less than 2 weeks ago. Gunsmithing/chambering by DNA Firearm Systems in NC. Great people and awesome work.

38.5 gr. - 3,480 fps (bottom left)
39.0 gr. - 3,528 fps (bottom right)
39.5 gr. - 3,583 fps (middle - I'll use this load for 62 gr.)
40.0 gr. - 3,629 fps (not shown...similar to other groups)

5 shot groups, by an average shooter at best. No pressure signs.

Just got in from trying .010 and again .015 off lands and with a 3620fps Ave I think I'll play with this load more at distance and on dogs later this week.

You know what is amazing, I got the same results with 40.8 grains of H4350 for my 80 grain Berger VLD targets. Benchmark barrel?

My 62 grain ELD-VT's are on order, but already getting amazing accuracy out of the Bergers, so likely saving the ELD-VT's for my 22 ARC project the beginning of this year.

I have been shooting 69 tmks so not a huge change and really a trade up in b.c.

Anyone know if they Would they work out of a 1 in 10 twist 22-250?
I believe Hornady is recommending at least an 8tw for their new 62gr ELD VT's. For only being 62gr they're a very long bullet and with a OAL of 1.055 that's basically the same length as a Berger 75gr VLD and barely shorter then a 80gr ELD-M.
