FRIDAY NIGHT MUSIC THREAD...

I hadn't heard this either.

Chris was the only ember of Yes that remained with the group from its founding until this year. I think Jon Anderson is next up in longevity, but still he left 3 times.

Like John Schneider, I am dumbfounded by TV Land's decision to cancel reruns of "The Dukes of Hazzard".
I mean, really? A month ago, just as it had been since January 26, 1979, nobody had a problem with airing/watching that TV show..........One of the most popular TV shows of the past 40 years.

I was in high school during the first few years of the show.
Due to the popularity of the show; the way my best friend & I liked to drive; and the fact that we would sometimes even get in & out of his '76 Maverick just like the Duke boys...the show even made it into my Senior Prom! Hahaha
{It was a "custom" for the Junior class to create predictions of what they felt the Seniors would eventually do with their lives.
The predictions for my friend, and myself?? That we both would move to Hollywood, and become stunt drivers for the "Dukes". Hahaha}

On that note....and no other....I thought this Friday's choices were appropriate.

Until I found this video, I had forgotten that at the start of the first episode....the General Lee was actually painted gloss black........

Now, some non-"Dukes" tunes......

Retro 80s;

"I've tried
Oh, how I've tried for a life
Yes, a life I thought I knew

Oh, it's the price we gotta pay
And all the games we gotta play
Makes me wonder if it's worth it to carry on
'Cause it's a game we gotta lose
Though it's a life we gotta choose
And the price is our own life until it's done..."

"Every whisper of
Every waking moment I'm
Choosing my confessions
Trying to keep
An eye on you
Like a hurt lost and blinded fool
Oh no I've said too much..."

I need my conscience to keep watch over me
To protect me from myself
So I can wear honesty like a crown on my head
When I walk into the promised land

We've been too long American dreaming
I think we've all lost the way
Forlorn somnambulistic maniacal
In the dark

I'm in love with an American girl
Well, she's my best friend
I love her surreptitious smile
That hides the pain within her

And we'll go dancing in the rings of laughter
And leave alone by the shores
Feel alone in the brands of rapture
And leave alone for the loss

OH YEAH!!!!!!!!!! Love them Mummies!!!!!!!!! It's too bad that the trumpet player, with the top hat, is no longer with the band. Really liked him.

Been in a KISS mode today...Tried to put these in chronological order........

"The trumpet player" didn't you say know one knows their true identity;)

Have you checked out the unplugged KISS without make-up? I think they pull it off rather well;

Or how about them going country?

Good one, about the Mummies' "trumpet player"! Hahahahaha

As far as the KISS Unplugged....yeppers, got it on a DVD.
Even though I've been a fan since '76, I think that they became a better playing band when the late Eric Carr, and Bruce Kulick joined. I always liked Peter & Ace (when they weren't high/drunk), but they actually were kinda limited in their playing styles.
I think that the current lineup with Eric Singer & Tommy Thayer just might be the best, as far as ability.

I have never understood why people who have posted that video of "God Of Thunder", keep calling it a "Country" version. That just boggles my mind.
It's NOT meant to be a "Country" version. It's just jack@ss Gene making fun of what he believes "country fans" to be like.
It's actually sad, because I've always loved that song. For them to actually do that on air....childish, IMHO.
But, I guess when you're worth as much money as KISS is, you can get away with it. Especially when you're playing to fans that probably think the same way that you do about people who like "REAL" Country music.

BTW, I know that you, yourself, meant no offense.
That video just seems to irritate me every time I see it.
