This song was great then I found this video, I got a tear in my eye.

If you like some brass along with some newer music this is awesome.

Jim, I got a kick out of that singing trucker.
Even listened to a couple of his other videos, & tried to do some research on him.
I'm still unsure as to how he is getting the sound quality, in the videos (ie: if he's actually singing in the truck...or if he records first, and then lip-synchs while in the truck.)

And then these, as well...(yeah, I know that somewhere along the line, I've played them before).........

The first one explains what kind of day I've been having, so far.....

Rec'd 3 inches of rain overnight & the yard is too wet to work in this morning, so I'm feeling kind of mellow today........

I love how Carly showed off those sexy, long legs in this video. {I admit that when I was a kid, I had a huge crush on her!}

Will i listen to Red Steagall on those long drives across the prairie. It reminds of a different place in time, when men valued things like their word, a deal, honesty and integrity highly.

Yeah, I like Red. Although I have never actually owned any of his music.
There's a local "Classic Country" radio station here, that airs Red's "Cowboy Corner" show, on Sunday mornings.
I generally try to listen in when I can.
I was raised kind of a "cowboy", out on our farm. We not only raised cattle, but during most of the '70s, we had several brood mares & raised colts.
We also had a few geldings & a single non-brood mare, that we used for riding at shows & to herd cattle.
I didn't give all that up until after I got out of school.
I still love Western (cowboy) music...and obviously regular old Country. Still love those old Western movies & TV shows, as well. (I watch re-runs of Gunsmoke & Bonanza nearly every day on TV Land.) Hahahahahaha

What does it say about me, and my misspent youth, that....having never seen this video....I immediately knew who this woman was/is & remembered her being (IMO) good looking 30+ years ago???

"In the words that it was forming.
And the sign said, The words of the prophets are written on the subway walls
And tenement halls
And whispered in the sound of silence..."

What do you think this song is about?
Checking into inpatient treatment for substance abuse or mental break down;

"We’d like to know a little bit about you for our files
We’d like to help you learn to help yourself
Look around you, all you see are sympathetic eyes
Stroll around the grounds until you feel at home

Hide it in a hiding place where no one ever goes
Put it in your pantry with your cupcakes
It’s a little secret, just the Robinsons’ affair
Most of all, you’ve got to hide it from the kids"

Newer solo of just Paul

"A man walks down the street
It's a street in a strange world
Maybe it's the Third World
Maybe it's his first time around
He doesn't speak the language
He holds no currency
He is a foreign man
He is surrounded by the sound
The sound
Cattle in the marketplace
Scatterlings and orphanages
He looks around, around
He sees angels in the architecture
Spinning in infinity
He says Amen! and Hallelujah!"

Infidel...

That "America" song, is the one that is being covered by First Aid Kit, at the end of my post.
I do agree about what the song is about.
{Whoever wrote out the lyrics for that video, got a few words wrong, though. Hahaha
Such as the last two lines...the person wrote "All gone to look for America"...when it actually is "All come to look for America". Hahahaha}

As to the meaning behind Mrs. Robinson...everyone I ever talked to about it, had a different idea.
When I was a kid, I thought it was totally about the movie "The Graduate". Then later learned from an interview that Simon did, that at least some of the song lyrics were written long before they decided to do it for the movie.
I think that overall, the lyrics basically take in much of the things about the 1960s.
