This one came to the call last Saturday, thought I had posted this earlier, Ruger American 243 and Hornady 87gr Vmax at around 80 yds. No run, no spin.

Nothing more pleasing than a crumpled coyote after the trigger is squeezed! Nice going 22mag! Definitely love the daylight kills. Admittedly, I don’t do that enough. Years of trying with marginal results has heavily swayed me into the dark of night. Always feel like I’m just educating my nighttime takers. Regardless of my experiences, congrats on your kill!

Congratulations, sir!
I've shot my share with a 243 and it never gets old. (y) Gotta love the "bang flop".
190 yards, in the middle of a field, tearing apart 2 fox squirrels that she'd just killed. The neighbor was watching from his house and said when he heard the rifle, the coyote tipped over and never moved. :sneaky:

Are the 87gr Vmax hand loads? All I can find is 75gr Vmax for my .243. I’ve shot probably 12 coyotes this season with the 75gr and they’ve performed well but I’d like to try some 87 gr. I have been shooting the Hornady Super Performance.

Not handloads, although components are available. What I am shooting came out of Hornady Custom shop but they are available on line. I bought these for hogs.
