China tariffs and thermals

China will probably try to flood U.S. with much reduced price products of all types, to try and play the public opinion game. Just don't buy anything made in China, this would help the world not just USA. China economy is teetering on a great depression, they need USA more than we need them.

That's a lot easier than done.

In a lot of ways we are our own enemy. We want to make $100 an hour, but we also want to be able to walk into Wal-Mart and buy a Pepsi for $0.50.

I agree, don’t buy from them. But I don’t think that they will be allowed to flood the USA market, unless a trade agreement is negotiated. Interesting times.

Double lung, you are correct. Xi is holding a pair of deuces and the USA has a four aces. If they don’t ship a lot to the USA, many China people will starve, literally. Hope it gets resolved soon, but Xi has kinda backed himself into a corner.

Trump placed tariffs on islands that have no inhabitants. they said they did that so Nations wouldnt build warehouses and ship from there. he thought ahead and blocked them.

more winning !!

The Chinese currency is at an almost 2 decade low. Asia/Europe doesn't want China made products/do not have any money for them because of EU and WEF post covid regulations/globalization. Break Chinese communists now, economically or be communists later. Trump is changing 70+ years of stupid/bad for America trade policies.

We don’t have a choice. We need the products and supply chain from china. We have spent 30 years offshoring our manufacturing to China. This will take at least a decade to reverse. The idiot in the Oval Office does not understand this. His impatience is his key character flaw. His tariff numbers are pure BS. No company is going to spend the money to build factories when Trump the idiot changes his mind every 24 hours. Businesses want stability. Trump is basically a 3 year old in a suit. No one trusts him.

We are bankrupt and $ 34T in debt. We do not hold the cards.

I think Dave is just frustrated like the rest of us. I also agree with some of what he is saying and I will give a good example of this.

ASIO Gear camo. The "founder" is from here in SC. Whenever he started his camo line one of his main marketing points was that his high-end camo was going to be made in the US. However, when the camo line hit the mass market it was not made in the US. He caught a lot of slack for this so he explained that he wanted to have his products made in the US, but there wasn't a single place that deals with that certain kind of fabric left in the US.

So either these companies come back to the US, which will not happen over night or we pay more.

Now, I disagree that the US doesn't hold the cards because of the US's buying power. The US is like Wal-Mart, we use our buying power to bully everyone else.

Wow, guess the first to wave the white flag if invaded has revealed themselves.

Yeah Dave it will take some time for manufacturers to get manufacturing in the US, I’m sure the “idiot in the Oval Office” does realize this, it’s getting the process started that seems difficult for the naysayers to understand. If you can’t understand the tariffs or what’s going on then I’m guessing you are not a business man of any kind. It still blows my mind that people (you) are fine with other Countries screwing us over, but get highly upset if we try to even the odds. Personally I think our Country needs to be as self sufficient and sustaining as possible. If that causes some “discomfort” in the process, so be it.

One good thing about having so many different people on the forum is that you are going to get a lot of different views, beliefs, etc. That's not always a bad thing. Most of the time I actually enjoy it.
I agree. The other forum (Michigan based) I participate in would've shut this thread down at post #10. So lame........

I got looking for a US manufacturer for hunting clothes and actually found one. Yes, they are expensive and if my wife found out what I’ve paid for everything I’ve bought I’d probably be divorced, but so far the quality is beyond anything I could imagine.

Oh yeah. There are some smaller companies that still make their own camo in the US. From my understanding its a certain type of material that he couldn't find here in the US.

Dave, so you have given up and submitting to the socialists/globalists ???

No. I hate the globalists as much as you do. But, I know how to fight smart. Idiot Trump is not fighting smart. He pulled the plug on our economy with no viable replacement for things we CAN'T make right now.

The intelligent solution involves patience. We should be offering tax breaks and incentives to bring back manufacturing. That would take time. We also need honest money instead of fiat currency created by a private cartel of banks called the Federal Reserve. Our constitution states that gold and silver are money, not the pieces of debt based paper in your wallet. We need to peg the dollar to gold and eliminate the illegal Federal income tax.

That is how you flip the monopoly board over and actually win. Not with retarded bluster and bullying from a position of weakness.
