I am not nearly as advanced in knowledge as many of you on here. I am a HS teacher that hunts as a hobby.
I currently am shooting a TC Venture with Realtree snow camo (1/12 twist) with my thermal setup. I really DO NOT want to thread that barrel for a suppressor. Something sentimental about that gun that I don't want to touch. I only use factory ammo and I have enough Hornady 55gr V-Max to last for years. The Venture shoots the VMax very well.
So here is what we are looking at. I would like to stay with the 55 gr Vmax and get a new .22-250 to hunt with next coyote season. Coyote season is the only time I will shoot this weapon. There are so may different twist rates out there on guns I've looked at. I've looked at the Browning X-Bolt Speed that is suppressor ready with a 1/9 with 18" barrel that kind of has my interest. I've also looked at the Tikka, Savage, Remington.....etc. (I do understand that not all guns will like the 55 gr vmax and faster twist is generally better with heavier bullets.)
I am not a re-loader. I have never switched out a trigger on any weapon. I am a teacher with a hobby..... that being said, is there anyone that can give me any advice about a suppressor ready .22-250 that would accurately fire a 55 grain Hornady v-max within 200 yards? Is there a twist rate I should avoid? I guess the gun would not necessarily need to be suppressor ready, because I could have it threaded. I also understand that just because you may recommend something doesn't mean it will automatically be an accurate setup. I am just trying to get some educated advice from people that know way more than I do.
This thread is almost embarrassing for me to start. So many of you load your own ammo, and have tested so many different kinds of ammo, and then you have me......the guy that just buys guns and ammo and shoots them.
I thank you in advance for your advice in this matter.
