I didn't say cheaper guns don't shoot. In fact, some cheap savages and ruger american can absolutely drive tacks. You got lucky on your Remington. They went through a long period of really putting out a lot of lemons. I think that has improved lately. Its other stuff like poor feeding, flimsy plastic stocks, mediocre triggers, no aftermarket support if you want to customize it later. A tikka doesn't need anything out of the box. Maybe a stock but the plastic tikka stock is much better than others. A howa barreled action allows you to pick your stock. Both actions have after market support with stocks and prefits etc. I'm not a Remington fan, but when I started shooting they were in that lemon phase. A begara or something is nice, but now you are pushing toward a cheaper custom action and a prefit if you have the skills to spin on a barrel.
