.22-250 vs .223 for eastern coyote hunting

If a factory rifle and factory ammo, it may take several attempts to find acceptable accuracy. With ammo costs, I would test more(buy different ammo) for a 223 than a 22-250. Plus you can practice more with the 223, as you can get 40-50 rds for the price of 20 22-250.

Just wondering what the best twist rate is for the 22-250? I’ve seen older rifles with 1-14.
Most factory pipes, for many years, have been 1 in 14. They produce some fast twists now for shooting heavier pills, like 1 in 8. I think the 1 in 12 is the perfect twist rate for the 22-250. I have 2 in 1 in 12 and one in 1 in 14. My 12 twists shoot anything that I would want to run in a 22 cal. The 1 in 14 is a little more picky with even some of the 55 grain bullets. Might as well forget anything heavier than that.

I vote 22-250.
Ive got 223s and .22-250s.
The 22-250 with a 12 twist shoots the 53 Vmax and Noslers very good.
The 22-250 9 twist shoots everything from 55 to 80gr very good.

Favorite load is the 50gr nosler ballistic tips.
Havent lost a critter yet but im patient on my shots.
