I know this subject has probably been pounded flat, and is incredibly subjective. Just curious as to folks go to caliber for predators and varmints. I had used a 22-250 for seems like forever. I wanted to switch to a gas gun but on AR15 platform. So against all my buddies better judgement I choose the 6mm arc. Took a while for me to get all the particulars,I wanted. I put it together been shooting it about 9 months I’m about 1400 rounds through it. I couldn’t be any happier from pigs, coyotes, coons etc. I will say its not the best choice for pigs but far as an all around and in the right hands its extremely effective. Its my night rig I have a iray bolt 50. I recently built a 22arc for day/truck rifle. Same foot print so I can grab one or the other and go.

I have a Ruger Predator .308 with the iRay Bolt TH50C 640 and Ruger SFAR .308 with an AGM Rattler TS35 640.
Yeah .308 is probably overkill, but I just have a thing for Rugers and .308’s, lol. It drops everything I shoot. Like you I may run into hogs while coyote hunting or they show up at one of my cameras. I use 168gr tipped Remington CoreLokts. Coyotes and smaller critters have to be posed really well for pics, lol.
 
An AR in 243 WSSM built by Dtech was my favorite predator rifle. Best I can find about the 6mm ARC, it should run very close to same performance. Shot a lot of hogs w/87 Gr. Hornady HP and 100 gr. Nosler solid base bullets with it. Never saved fur down here, so it was a great predator rifle.
When forced to change platforms wound up w/308 BAR. A bit overkill, but w/125 gr NBT's it works!

I do love that scope. Definitely good choice of lead there also.

I almost built a 243 in AR even bought the AR10 receiver set. Last minute I got cold feet and went with the AR15 platform. Maybe one day I’ll get a round to it. Very nice.

I had the WSSM built in spite of the fact that it was not popular in bolt guns at the time, but purchased a lifetime supply of brass and loved it in the AR15. No feeding issues, super accurate and the short mag. performs right with the 243 Win. IIRC you could get about 100 fps more out of the WSSM than the old .243 Win. I don't think I would care for the AR10, either.
