This farther south in S TX. While I was hunting the receiving ranch at the time I was not present to see either the trapping or the release but understand they used a huge net on poles over bait. When enough turkeys got under net they dropped the net. I heard the hardest part was keeping the javelina off the bait long enough for the turkeys to come in. :)

Don't know what breed those are but..., they appear to be the kind I see often laying hidden by a mailbox on a gravel road that shoot out of the grass and chase vehicles.

Miniature Australian Shepherds. And these don't chase anything outside of butterflies and grasshoppers. They reside in the house unless they are out in the fenced backyard. And they can hear the UPS truck 10 minutes before it gets here ........

Landowner protects bobcats on his ranches other than in certain pastures on two of the three ranches where they have springbok and Thompson gazelle & occasionally when they become a problem elsewhere.

In 2015 I made a post after several months of absence from the ranch entitled Thinkin & Thankin.

Been thinkin and thankin even more of late, this time inspired by a year long hiatus, but the memories have not faded a bit with time. Hoping that God will grant that I have the ability to return to the ranch to once again enjoy His great creation.
