Your favorite shotguns

I have a couple of personal favorites and both are semi-autos. I got away from pump action shotguns, when I was in my 20s and never looked back. :sneaky:

I like my Remington Versa Max for goose hunting. I use a Patternmaster Extended Range choke tube, combined with some Kent Fast Steel BBs, in 3 1/2" at 1550 fps and it allows me to drop geese at 60+ yards.

My newest favorite, doesn't have any field experience....yet. However, it certainly has proved itself at the sporting clay shoots. (y)
Mossberg 940 JM Pro with a 9+1 capacity and a 22" barrel.

I love shotguns. I grew up tagging along with the men of the family, rabbit hunting behind a pack of beagles. And turkey hunting the Ozark mountains. My dad was a Browning Auto Five guy, and he also had an Ithaca SKB SxS that he used to good effect on rabbit, dove, crows, and quail. So naturally, a Belgian Browning Auto Five is one of my favorite shotguns. Here is my 1967 20 gauge...

This little 1968 Beretta SxS 20 gauge is a favorite game gun. It is simply magical...

There are others, an old 870 Wingmaster worn nearly silver from use. A Beretta O/U that makes me seem to be a much better wingshooter than I am. And some more that I keep around. Like this lean, mean Benelli M1 Tactical. I call it my "Thug gun." It lacks class, but it is brutally effective.

With all that said, if I had to pick an all-time favorite for all chores, I would be forced to choose my old H&K Benelli M1S90 camo turkey gun. This is an old friend that has traveled many, many miles throughout the Ozark mountains, hunting all sorts of critters. I nicknamed this shotgun "Havoc" because when it is time, this thing wrecks anything I cut it loose on. Rabbits, squirrels, doves, ducks, crows, turkeys, raccoons, opossums, armadillos, skunks, feral cats, fox, coyote, bobcat, hogs, and one deer have all fallen to this old, comforting shotgun. Dust, dirt, forest duff, rain, snow, ice, freezing temperatures, heat- nothing has stopped this gun from functioning, and it has never failed me.

I shoot that same shotgun.. dependable!!!!!!

I have that very same pattern on my JM 940 - it's been perfect so far. I haven't shot really light loads yet, that is coming soon. Good luck!

I have a few nice shotguns. I like them all but some more than others. I have two 1950’s 12 gauge Winchester Model 12’s. One 1950’s 12 gauge Belgium made Browning Auto five. One 1960’s 12 gauge Beretta single shot trap gun. One 1982 12 gauge Remington 870 Wingmaster. And Finally my favorite gun a 2012 12 gauge Benelli M2…..

I love Benelli! My favorite two are both Montefeltros in 12 and 20 depending on what I'm hunting. However, this year I'm going to buy a Beretta A4 26" 12ga. The new self cleaning gas piston has my interest! Two of my favorite waterfowl hunting buddies have been raving about them so I'm looking into it!

My all time favorite is an LC Smith 16 ga side x side. It was my great grandfathers. Built in 1922, it is to this day the most accurate shotgun I have ever shot. It now belongs to my oldest son. Outside of that, I'm partial to the good old standby Remington 870.

I don’t have a lot of shotguns but my “pride and joy” is my turkey shotgun. It’s just a Remington 870 Youth Model 20ga that throws a very mean pattern with a custom choke.
My “do all” gun is a Benelli SBEII 12ga.
I have a 1956 Browning Light Twelve that my dad gifted to me for my 50th birthday. That gun will be passed down to one of my boys one day.
Believe it or not I still have a Winchester Model 140 I got for Christmas when I was 11yrs old. Still take it out every season and shoot a limit of dove with it too.
I have a 20ga O/U I won at a turkey convention…nothing special, it’s a Tristar I think. It also gets taken on a dove shoot every year as well. I’ll take it to the Wood Duck hole some too, fun little gun.

Remington shotguns are what make up the bulk of my shotguns. Mostly hometown pride I guess, as I grew up about 15 or so miles from the Remington Arms plant in Ilion, NY. I'd say my favorite is my bunny gun, it's a Lightweight 20 gauge 1100 Special Field model.

I also have three 870's and two 1187's. There's a couple others that are nothing specials that just hang around. Mossberg 500, and old Savage pump, and I'm probably forgetting one or two.

I do have a pretty 20 gauge SKB 100 double barrel that I enjoy toting around, and a 410 Harrington & Richardson that was a pretty spontaneous purchase. Walnut furniture with a chrome receiver and blued barrel. Hadn't seen one before so grabbed it.

My first shotgun was a remington 1100 12g field model. Killed my first coyote with it at about 15 yrds.
Then I picked up a benelli m1s90 steady grip for full time coyote use.
Recently I got a cheap Chinese AK47 12g just for giggles. Doesn't pattern 4buck worth a crap. 30 yrds is pushing it with that one.
Been eyeballing an winchester 1887 clone leaver 12g. No real use for it but always liked that style.
Someday I'd also like a 12g coach gun with exteral hammers and with choke tubes. Again, no real use for it, just an itch I'd like to scratch.
