Which single stage reloading press?

Alright so sounds like my best bet is to go with a single stage press. Now my question is which one? I would like to stick with RCBS because I already have a couple hundred bucks invested into dies, shellholders etc.

Thanks,
Luke

Most single stage presses are interchangable with dies and shell holders, you can't go wrong with a RCBS rockchuker, it seems to be the most popular

Alright so if I was to get the Forster Co-Ax and use the RCBS dies I already have would I have to adjust the dies any since they were adjusted in a RCBS press? Or once you get dies set to where you need them they work the same in any press that will accomdate a different die like putting a RCBS die in the Co-Ax?

For any new press, you will need to become proficient with die set-up, even if it is a new RCBS. If you go with the Co-Ax, it would be best if you get the Forster lock-rings for your existing dies (a minimal investment). Once your dies are set-up in the Co-Ax, you simply slide them in and out; most of your adjustments will not need to be set each time.

Alright seen where they suggest getting Forster lock-rings on their website so Ill look into it. My main question I guess with getting the Co-Ax is since it has a different design than the RCBS press do I go through the same steps to adjust the RCBS dies to the Co-Ax, as I would adjust RCBS dies to a RCBS press?

Basically, it will be the same steps,,, the dies will sit a little higher in the Forster press than any "O" or "C" type..

Since I load nothing longer than '06 cases, and the bulk of my loading is small varmint calibers, I have a Redding Boss. It has a little shorter stroke than the RCBS Rock Chucker and the Redding Big Boss. It works a little faster in my mind.

I loaded for 35+ years on a Pacific "C" up-stroke press that my g-pa bought new in 1948. He gave it to me in 1962. Up-stroke works great on small calibers, but is a pain on anything that requires some serious re-sizing. You keep lifting your loading bench off the floor! As is true for any quality loading gear, that press still works fine, it's that I just don't use it anymore. I probably should bolt it to the bench again, as it is the absolute best single stage press for handgun calibers.

In sum, you will not go wrong with any any of the major brands. Redding, RCBS, Forster....however, I must admit I have never been a Lee fan. A good RCBS, Redding or Forster will outlast you....unfortunately!

I ordered my Forster Coax from Cabella's and it came with a pair of Forster locking rings.

P5200, I am certain you will be happy. Forster is good stuff. Be patient, learn your equipment and proceed.

I know this is not part of our male culture, but read the instructions that have come with your purchase. It will save you a lot of frustration. We will never hold against you or consider it a sign of weakness.

I can give anothe vote for the Ultramag. I had a Co-Ax and sold it in favor of the Ultramag. Significant ergonomic differences in the presses, especially with long cartridges.

Claimbuster said it best. Get what you want/like and learn how to use it properly.
