What's your go to squirrel gun?

I will be using my Gamo magnum gr .22 cal air rifle. Topped with a mantis 3-9x32 which has held up to the recoil of the springer. I'm also running the 21 grain Patriot Javlin slugs.
this in also my go to rig for other varmints and predators.

good hunting

If I were relying on squirrel dinners for survival then my Beretta SxS 20 gauge would probably get the call. Especially early in the season when the trees are greened up. Later when the leaves are turning colors and falling my old stainless boat paddle Ruger 77/22 .22LR bolt gun or the newer Ruger 10/22 Custom Shop Competition rifle would probably be the ones. But for pure joy, the old Marlin M39A with peep sight is a natural woods rifle that I have killed a lot of critters with over the years.

Been thinking about this and what ammo? I'd still pick my AyA 410 but I'd use 1/2oz 6's with a 2 1/2" shell. I use it quite a bit shooting pigeons training my dogs and think 1/2oz of 6's would be fine and not carry to far off. Have 3" 11/16oz loads for working with the dogs

I rebarreled this one a couple months ago. Went from a Volquartsen 20" .920" barrel to this Kidd 16.5" Lightweight threaded barrel.

Hogue stock, with a Kidd single stage trigger.

Leupold 4-12x40 AO with the LR Duplex in Vortex rings on an Area 419 15 MOA picatinny rail.

Shoots damn good too!

I carry my Ruger Mark IV Lite with Ruger can when scouting for hogs and take a few squirrels (rabbits too) to make a pot of dumplings.

Broke in the "new" gun this weekend on a young red, only squirrel I saw.

Shooting with my new Silencerco Switchback suppressor and CCI subsonic HP's, lethal combo.

i use a savage B 22 in 22lr, its a tack driver. i went out today for about an hour and saw 2 black squirrels, 2 grey and a fox squirrel. managed to bag a black and grey
tried to load a photo but it said "oops we ran into some problems"

the black one also had a bot fly larva crawling out of its chest.

Great job Bo! Love me dome squirrell! Blacks not so common here. I have seen 1 or 2 over the years but haven’t shot any yet.
