What 243

Love my Tikka T3X Super Lite in 243 Win! It is not threaded but for 2025 they will thread all of them. I put a new trigger spring in mine and besides being the lightest rifle in my safe, it shoots very accurate, the action is very smooth and the trigger is excellent, crisp and light.
I worked up a load using Barnes 80 gr TTSX bullets and I absolutely love it. It you can find the Super Lite, even if it is not threaded, buy it as I am sure you can get it threaded.

243 has a soft spot in my heart. I have several, an ar10, a rem 700, and a beretta brx1. Currently night hunting with the beretta, she filed my cat tag too.

I'm a Tikka fan. My Tikka 243 shoots pretty decent. I definitely can't blame a miss on the rifle.

I was 41 before I had a proper cheek weld / adjustable comb. That being said, I've taken coyotes, skunks, foxes and other critters at 250+ using a chin weld.

Budget would be a determining factor. If you're a Natty Light guy; Savage Axis. Coors Banquet; Ruger American. Dos Equis; Tikka. Wine kinda feller; Sako In all seriousness, I had my hands on a Ruger American gen2 yesterday. It had a very good "feel" to it. Nice and light, factory installed brake on threads, fluted barrel, etc. Couldn't tell you how the trigger felt but I imagine it wouldn't be hard to tinker with to get where you like it. If I were in the market for one, I wouldn't have hesitated for a second to scoop it up!
