What 243

So I am a big fun of the 243 and wanting a light weight rifle with a threaded barrel and good trigger. This will be my night thermal gun so which one would you suggest thanks.

I just grabbed another Savage Predator XP.... in .243 to compliment my .223 Predator XP. It not super light at 10 pounds..I put the .223 in a MDT chassis for strictly deer hunting and will eventually do the same with this .243.
I have twin thermal setups with Savage 10s in .223 and .243...
.243 is a great coyote caliber.

Lots of options in todays world. Your budget will help make the choice. I'm a huge fan of Tikka and Sako but their prices have really increased the last couple of years. For that matter so has every thing else.

It’s one of the best factory triggers out there, very crisp. If you really want to lighten it up, replace the trigger spring with a Yo Dave, mountain tactical, or one of the other companies aftermarket offerings. I have a Yo Dave and I like the trigger over my Trigger techs.

That’s correct. But if you prefer or want it even lighter, then a simple $10 spring swap will get you there. I’m talking about the tikka here.

243 has a soft spot in my heart. I have several, an ar10, a rem 700, and a beretta brx1. Currently night hunting with the beretta, she filed my cat tag too.

Have a couple Tikka Roughtechs in 243 and they have grown on me. Great shooters. They are all long action so that may be a con for some. I put aluminum bottom metal and a titanium bolt shroud on them. Also installed regular sporter bolt knobs on both. Adjusted triggers real quick and they are pretty nice. They also have ability to accept pre fit barrels due to action tolerance. Good aftermarket support also.

I have a Sako 579, and a Rem 700 CDL…much prefer the Sako…Tikka would be my next choice if buying a 3rd
