To put the sounds on the computer from cassette, you will need a software program like audacity or gold wave and you can get free versions by downloading the from the web. When you get your foxpro and pg1 it will come with a small black wire that connects to your pg1 and computer, i bought the same thing at radio shack but in a longer length. To start recording on to the computer is used a walkman and hooked one end of the black wire to where the headphones would connect and hooked the other end of the wire to the (in) on the back of the computer. Start the software program and you will see where you can record sounds and i believe i select "line in" on the sound source for recording, when i'm ready i start the walkman and hit the record button on the program and let it run for the amount of time you want to record,i usually record about a minutes worth of cassette. When your done stop and listen to what you recorded by hitting play and if you like what you recorded save it and lable it so you don't have to guess what the sound is at a later date. When i was done with installing all my cassettes on the computer i even saved them to a cd in case something ever happens to the computer. Don't forget that when you install a sound on the foxpro the one you recorded over will be erased for good. What i did was save all my foxpro sounds before i did anything else, i have the older foxpro so i had to save my sounds to the computer by sitting it in front of a microphone hooked to the computer and selecting "microphone" on the sound source for the recording program. I'm sure your wife will be able to help you out since she works with computers. You made the right choice by getting the pg1. I will check back to see if you have anymore questions. One more thing is when i change sounds on the foxpro i write new labels on the white sticky labels you can buy at walmart and put one on the remote and one on the foxpro then i cover the lables with clear packing tape to protect them from the weather.
