Hi,
I am in the market for Universal Depriming/Decapping Die. I will be using it on 30-30 base wildcats but will also be using for .172, .204. .223. What brand do you use? Pros & Cons. What brand would you recommend? I lean toward Redding but am flexible.
Thanks In Advance
Doug

Redding makes one for down to 17 cal. It does require an additional decapping rod. And honestly, I'd not like using a decapping rod that small on the larger cartridges. Especially if you have crimped primers. Redding sells a 2 die kit for any and all decapping needs. That's the way I would go if I were decapping 17 and 20 cals. But even that route requires a separate, smaller rod be purchased...

No it will not. Buy one and pull the rod. Chuck it up in a drill and file it down. Maybe fifteen minutes at most. Mine fits down to 17 now. I have been using it for many years this way on everything up to 308 including crimped primers. Never had an issue.

Hi,
Thanks for all the replies. I have a LEE with 2 extra stems headed this way. I also have thanks to a Friend (I did not know I had) in Denmark a stem already turned to fit 17 caliber also headed this way. I would like to thank him for his kind act.

Thanks
Doug
