Unique Coyote Mounts

Byron South has the most unique full body mount of a coyote, that I've ever seen. It's hanging from it's rear foot, like the dead duck mounts. Very unique and very realistic.

Thanks Tony,

Here are pictures of the two I have mounted.

The second is the black coyote from Volume 3. His back half was pretty shabby or I would have him full body mounted. I do like the pedestal mount though.

Those are nice!I like the idea of one hanging like that.Noboby around here likes to do them,They say they stink too bad.I want one bad!!!!!!!!!

Thanks guys,

rprince,

My wife filmed me shooting that coyote. She is pretty cool with it. However, it is no longer hanging from the china cabinet. When I picked him up from the taxidermist I went to my mother-in-laws, went in the back door into the kitchen (where she was standing) and boldy ask "can I skin this coyote in here" /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif. She had a fit, left through the house. Of course I followed, carrying the coyote asking "Whats the matter, you act like you've never seen a mounted coyote". She finally caught on, but that initial look was worth the price for the taxidermy work. Got a pretty cool mother-in-law too.

/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif Good one, I can see me doing that with my mother in law /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smiliesmack.gif she doesnt have the best sense of humor.

That is a really nice looking mount though, I've seen it done with ducks & small game but never a coyote.

My first "called" coyote is in the process of being mounted like this.

I have a bobcat wall mounted as shown below, but I am running out of wall space for critters so I decided to have the coyote sit on a table, desk, or the floor.

Kevin,
Occasionally on eBay a fellow with the screen name of mrutvol auctions some of the nicest predator mounts that I have ever seen. His most realistic poses are ones featuring the coyote or bobcat laying down in a very relaxed pose with its head turned. His work, especially a unique specimen, can go for up to ~$1,000 or so. He hasn't had much lately, but I started a thread here several months back that featured 2 fantastic coyote mounts. Maybe a search under my name will bring up this thread. I'll see.
John

Yep, it came up on the Search feature. Posted on 5/19/06, titled Outstanding Coyote Taxidermy

tony, McKenzie makes a hanging coyote production form.

we are in the process of mounting a coyote /river otter piece. The otter is in a defensive curl, and the coyote is staring down on it, debating its next move. Hopefully, we will have the piece done for the Harrisburg sports show. Anyone down there check out Eagles bend taxidermy, we should have some cool stuff. Might get a cat stalking a duck in the snow for a table piece if we have some extra time.

Never cease to be amazed at his mounts. I love the bobcat checking out the snail. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif
