Tribal Chief

How easy are these to blow? I would love one but my only concern is the learning curve. I've never used an open read caller and I would hate to have it just laying around cause I can't figure it out.

I got the caller today @Pinoy Piper. I've been practicing and I would say I'm 80% of the way there to getting this call figured out. It's super loud which is what I want for these windy winter day and nights.

That is awesome , Im glad you got it and happy you like it. If i can help you in any way please reach out.

I'm putting my lips on the reed. I would around 75-80% down the mouth piece. Too far up and it doesn't let the reed vibrate. Too far down and it sounds more like a duck call. Would you say this the correct location? What video tutorial would you recommend?

I did a video tutorial using my calls that can be applied to any handcall. I can try and link it on here if I remember how. In the meantime try putting pressure down with your teeth instead of lips. It creates a sharper cleaner sound.

This is a great call. I really like the cut/shape of the toneboard. it Nice flatter, wider, with down-turned radius cut tip. That shape really fits to my personal technique, and it didn't take but just couple minute to find the sweet spot to make a real nice sound from a chirp bark, to a nice tight howl.
