Top 5 coyote hunting states?

I would prefer fairly open unpopulated country where shooting a rifle wouldn't be a problem, probably west of the Mississippi. That's where I would guess most of them are anyhow. To really narrow it down, make it Texas, Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, Utah, Idaho, New Mexico, Oregon, South Dakota, Missouri, and Arkansas.

The best five states for coyotes? I can tell you what the best three in order use to be. Arizona, Texas and Nevada. Nevada is now shot up, you can't hunt the hot spots in Arizona anymore, so that leaves only Texas.

You all need to go to Texas, the best place in the U.S. to hunt coyotes.

The worst five places to hunt coyotes would be Nevada, Arizona, Utah, New Mexico and probably California.

Maine has a lot of Coyotes, the deer population in the northern 1/2 of the state is dropping because of coyote attacks on the young. There's no closed season on coyotes. you can hear then sing almost every night in most parts of the state.

I think that i killed the only yote in NM, i havent seen one in a WHOLE YEAR /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smiliesmack.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused1.gif

Just a rumor but I heard from reliable sources they were going to put the coyote on the endangered speices list because there were so few of them. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-006.gif

You don't want to come to Oklahoma to shoot coyotes there aren't any here. I hope you believe that cause then there will be more for me.

The only coyotes we have here are illegal immigrants /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smiliesmack.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif.

It'd be very hard to say or to narrow it down to 5. Eastern Washington has huge numbers and hardly anybody hunting them. My experience says California, Nevada, Arizona, Utah would be in there. I won't say where but calling in Utah we made lots of multiple kills on a single stand. Many times as many as 9 dogs came in on one stand.

I've lived in Arizona for 26 years-we have LOTS of coyotes. In the low desertm high desert and in the mountain pine forests.

Been to Colorado, and in the durango area we would see and hear them often, too.

Don't bother coming to New York.I'm in the process of putting yote's on the endangered species list.NOT!! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-006.gif

i thought i had one coming to the call last night but then the wife elbowed me and i woke up.
i can't wait for p.d. season to end and coyote season to start. with a slight break for bowseason.

I would say its easy to figure out just look at the trapping harvest reports and hides sold in each state. At you'r local department of wildlife.
