Tally Ho?

Heck yeah - I believe it was the first hand call I ever owned. Still have it in the side pouch of my calling bag. Haven't used it in years though as I have so many fun customs to play with.

I’ve got most all of the calls you’ve mentioned so far. I just hang on them and switch out about every 2-3 years. I think we get some coyotes that we might not see on a stand that get smart to the sound but will come into a different sound at a later date . Been using some of Kerry’s calls lately but it’s time to switch up.

Same..never like em… but they are a bit iconic.
This was the first open reed call I had ever purchased to try. And yeah, it is hard to blow. Still is, lol.
Compared to the Deuce for instance, or Carver’s rubber composite open reed. I played with these three calls a couple weeks back. Is this because of the specific reed thickness or something else, design, or….?

You have to modify the Tally Ho to end up with something worth having. I steepen the reed bridge so they respond better and don't stick. Throw away the junk reed that they come with and make a new one out of .010 mylar. Not all of them respond to the mods, but when you get one that is tuned up and works well, there isn't a call out there that sounds any better.

I have a couple here and they work. I had asthma for many years and like others said they took a lot of air and I've found better. The old lungs have improved since retirement, I now do not have to deal with dust everyday.
