Stupid question

Just because you hear coyotes at a location doesn't mean they will still be there one hour later. A coyote can easily walk and slow trot 2 miles in 30 minutes.
While that is true, and you can never count on anything 100%, up here in my neck of the woods in the northeast they typically have a smaller home range with lots of roads and obstacles to keep them closer to home.

I don’t use sirens anymore. Got a cow horn howler that I sound off on when trying to locate coyotes before a tournament. That howler gets em going right now and from quite the distance.
 
If you locate them at dusk it is likely that is where their den is and likely that they'll still be there later that night
Coyotes only actually den from sometime generally in mid to late March, until maybe mid to late may. The rest of the year they sleep under conifer trees, or just on the ground. Even when they den, they may move quite often. I’ve known of dens that were moved at least 4 times in that couple of months. I'm sure some have seen more.
