We've been doing this much more often this year if the situation allows....
A few weeks ago we were in the perfect situation for this. We knew there were at least 3 coyotes on the property.
We set up along a treeline that divided 2 fields. First coyote came in quick but cautious.
Played a howl and partner shot it. Waited a couple minutes and Ran a serenade and a pair came from same direction. - We thought it was a solo(tree blocked one from each of our views- ran howls and partner shot it- then we saw the male.
Partner moved into other field to see if the male would circle or hold up.
In the meantime № 3 came barreling in from same direction but 200 yards down(upwind) field.
Ran howls it stopped and I shot it...Ran a coyote distress.
Partner came back over to discuss what just happened (left his gun)...as we were bs, the male came out from some cover behind some house and trotted right past us...and I shot that one.
All in 15 minutes.

For the OP
When I'm solo and have trips or quads come in, I have some choice words I mumble.
I try to observe smaller vs bigger Or young vs mature- even thought most of the "pups" are getting to hard to tell around now but can still have that pup gait..and try to kill mature female or male first. They might be the ones scratching and urinating.
And then pick a good sound, pick a coyote and hope the "plan" works
