Still Scratching

We spotted a couple of coyotes while riding into our intended set, but we didn't attempt to take either of them. Our night was nice and cool with NE winds and no bugs. My partner soon had one coming on a string which ended up being a big male which was actually in our downwind but couldn't seem to resist the kitten cries. I shot him at 105 yds. I had to leave early and when I got home a young female coyote (unbred) came to the bait pile about 10:15. She managed to get up enough steam to make it over into the field ditch that runs along the west end of my lot. Pulled her out this morning.

Thanks for the replies guys, and yes it has been unbelievably slow on the bait pile. I did kill two early in the fall and nothing since until last night. April is usually my best bait pile month though so maybe I'll pick up a few more.
