Speer 50 gr TNT

I shoot them by the boat-load out of my AR's. I'm using a neer-max load of AA-2015 powder with a Winchester primer. Great load!

Speer recommends that you not exceed 3400 fps with the 50 gr. TNT which should be no problem with the .223, but they also say the 50's are for barrels with twists no quicker than 1 turn in 10 inches. Will they shoot OK out of 1:8 and 1:9 twist barrels which are so popular with most AR's?

26.5 gr. W748, Fed. Brass, BR-4 primers....shoots .8s in my HBar AR-15....

The same load does mighty fine in my Cooper.

They shoot really well in my Remington VSSF with BL-C(2). But the current issue is trying to find some. They are on back order at both Midway and Midsouth.

The AR that I started shooting the TNT's out of had a 1:10 twist barrel on it. I was sending them out of that barrel at about 3350 fps. They were devistating on PD's!

I have shot them out of well seasoned 1:8 twist AR barrels with good results, in spite of what Speer says. They shot about a 12" @ 100 yard group out of a new 1:8 barrel!
