Sig Sauer Cross Trax

I've never seen 6cm in Wal-Mart. Academy may have just 1 or 2 offerings most of the time. When I go to most private stores I hardly ever see 6cm.

I don't have a 6cm, but I do notice the ammo thing because I shoot 6mm arc and they are usually in the same section if they have any. I've even ordered 6mm arc and was mistakenly sent 6cm.

BUTTTTT What I do see in all these stores is 243.

Midway currently has 25 6cm offerings. 66 .243 offerions.

You have a strange axe to grind here. You and Austin keep making strawman arguements. The .243 and the 6cm are virtually identical in powder capacity. The benefit of the 6cm is that I can walk into any store in America and buy really good factory ammo. I have a .243 that I was killing coyotes with 35 years ago. I've shot out 3 different 6cm barrels. I'm not trying to debate which one you like better, I don't care. I'm talking about Sig's decision to chamber a new offering in a 70 year old cartridge that has very few factory ammo options in existence, and dwindling, over a nearly identical chambering that is probably the fastest growing cartridge in America with significant factory ammo availability and options, and a wider range of projectiles. I'm not sure how people keep taking what I'm saying as some sort of personal attack or something.

The 243 lives today just fine. Maybe in your part of the country it’s “dwindling” but it’s thrived since the start and continues today just about anywhere I go. I’m positive after your last few comments though, you’re MUCH more intelligent than Sig and their marketing crew is

My goodness. If the man wants to buy a Ford instead of a Toyota, let him buy a Ford. It's his money.

A friend of mine has a regular Cross and loves it.

I'm defitnely not trying to get you to buy a Toyota, but like mentioned above.... Check out the new Seekins. I watched a video on it... seems pretty sweet.
I’ve watched a couple videos and done some reading on that Seekins since @Duhhh mentioned it. They sure do seem like nicely built rifles, definitely peek a guys interest.

I've had a 223WSSM, a 243 WSM, 270WSM, 300WSM, 6 CM,several 6.5 CM and a 6.5PRC. HAD! None did anything that much better than the old tried and true that's been around for years. My new to me 6.5-284 does about the same as the PRC so why do I need the PRC? I'm old and been around the block several times. The old cartridges have stuck around all these years for a reason.

If I am not mistake it was explained on the video I watched the other day that the new Seekins is supposed to be an entirely new rifle.
My apologies, I guess I made it sound like I was talking about a Seekins PH? If that’s what you’re referring to? I don’t know exactly what his rifle model is, he just happened to mention he’s got a new Seekins calling rifle and would bring it on our upcoming hunt.

Yeah. I have no clue. LoL.

I was just watching some videos on the new rifles that are coming out in 2025. I think it's anything with "3" in the name.

I looked at their site when I was watching the video and seen the $2,000+ price tag and went about my business.

I don’t shoot a 6 creed. I do shoot a 243. I purchased it less than a year ago. Considered and the Creed, but due to ammo availability, and that I don’t need to shoot a thousand yards, I opted for the 243. I’m not pissed.

I have no dog in this fight. People shoot/build what they want. Companies build what they want. People have opinions. Is what it is.

I’m just concerned that when Austin gets this thing figured out that he can find a way to get those Salt Creek TSS loads in that sucker! :ROFLMAO:

Yeah there’s the original PH, PH2, and PH3 now. I’ve had two of the PH2’s. The PH3 is a different action with a 60 degree bolt throw and I think some new chamberings. Supposed to be able to do quick barrel changes without a barrel vice too.

I don’t think it’s a fair comparison between the Sig cross lines and Seekins lines. You mentioned you were going to rebarrel the Sig cross anyways and I just threw out Seekins because the rebarrel through them will likely be cheaper than ordering one and paying smith fees for the Sig. I don’t think Seekins does anything Ackley though. You could probably find someone to spin up a barrel for the Seekins but that would likely put you back in the Sig cross rebarrel price range.

That said, I have the Sig and PH2 in the safe now and no real issues with either of them. The Sig cross is colder on the hands haha.

Yeah that’s steep for sure. Hard for me to spend that kind of money on a production rifle. Ammos another story, just ask @hunt0168

I appreciate that info a lot, that’s the kind of information I’m looking for.
