Savage Impulse Predator in 243

Here are some pictures of me tapping into the Accu-stock forearm aluminum chassis and mounting the SRS 4" Acra rail using 10-32X1" SS screws. I made it to where I can slide the rail far rearward to mount in a tripod or slide forward and use the flatbottom of the rail to ride a front rest.

Went to the range this morning to test my 55 Gr Nosler BT (Varmint) loads using Varget and 210 primers. My first group of five shots were over an inch @ 100 yds and was getting 3/4" when firing forming brass. Long story shortened, my suppressor was loose, good thing it's a 30 cal can or could've had a baffle strike.

Proceeded to shoot the remainder of my loads and groups 2. 3 & 4 (pretty sure I pulled my shots on # 3) showed promise so, I'll work with these loads at various distances to see which one is the most consistent. It's really hard to complain when shot to shot went into the same holes.

PS: Forgot to mention, when I run the bolt fast, it doesn't pick up a round which needs to be fixed!!!!

I've got the feeding and ejection issues worked out. Working the bolt fast was ejecting my Lapua brass all over the place which can be an issue hunting/standing in water and tall grass. By using a cantilever AR mount, I was able to mount a Cadwell brass catcher and I can turn the mount backwards so my Pulsar Thermion 2 Pro will work with the brass catcher. I need to find a manufacture that makes extra high 30mm rings (must be 1.5" high) which will give enough clearance to allow for the brass to be mounted under the body of the scope on my other Savage, Bergara and 700 rifles too.

I had one in 243, shot it for a while like that and then re-barreled to 22 Creed. Also swapped out the stock and did some other things. I have a whole playlist about it:

The factory 243 barrel was just ok. The Black Hole Weaponry 22 Creed barrel shoots lights out. It's my current nighttime rig.
Overall, I'm fairly pleased with the rifle, although I probably wouldn't have bought it if I wasn't a lefty. Being able to run the bolt on the right or left side is pretty cool.
