Dear NRA Member: U.S. Representative Richard Hudson (R-NC) has reintroduced the Constitutional Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act (H.R. 38). Representative Hudson, the longstanding champion of this legislation, along with more than 120 of his colleagues have sponsored this bipartisan bill to provide nationwide reciprocity for concealed carry license holders and residents of Constitutional Carry states.
On Friday, Gun Owners of America published an email reportedly received by one of its members in response to a question to ATF about whether adding a brace to a CZ Scorpion pistol would convert the gun into a short barreled rifle for purposes of the National Firearms Act (NFA).
Last Monday, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit – which encompasses Louisiana, Mississippi, and Texas – reversed the conviction of a man under a federal law that prohibits firearm possession by one who is “an unlawful user of or addicted to any controlled substance{.]
In the 2008 District of Columbia v. Heller U.S. Supreme Court decision, Justice Antonin Scalia contemplated potential location restrictions governments could impose on the exercise of Second Amendment rights.
Finland is not great when it comes to regulating guns. Like most of Europe, there are a great many restrictions, such as permit, registration, training, and storage requirements, as well as limitations on the types of guns one may own.

Some elections are won and lost on narrow grounds. But on many of the most important issues of the day, Donald Trump’s policies promise not just to be different from, but the opposite of, Joe Biden’s.
Last week, we reported that an unnamed ATF official, speaking for the agency’s Firearms Industry Programs Branch (FIPB), counseled a gun owner via ATF’s official email that ATF considers all pistols equipped with stabilizing braces to be short-barreled rifles (SBRs).
We haven’t written much about one of America’s most irksome or notorious or galling gun-ban extremists, David Hogg, in quite some time.
In recent years, the United Kingdom has served as a cautionary tale for what can happen when citizens don’t adequately safeguard individual rights - most notably, the right to free speech and the right to armed self-defense.
On January 17, the NRA joined the U.S. Sportsmen’s Alliance Foundation and Safari Club International in filing a lawsuit against the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) over its near prohibition on recreational target shooting on the Sonoran Desert National Monument in Arizona.
Yesterday, NRA filed an amicus brief supporting firearm manufacturers in a case where the plaintiffs allege that the manufacturers’ pro-Second Amendment social media posts caused a third party to commit a horrific public shooting.

Last week, the end of a lawsuit over ATF’s infamous “zero tolerance” policy revealed that the agency had already begun walking back its persecutory approach to federal firearm licensee (FFL) inspections in the waning days of the Biden-Harris administration.

Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals Strikes Down Federal Laws Prohibiting FFLs From Selling Handguns to 18-to-20-Year-Olds
Yesterday, the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals held that 18 U.S.C. §§ 922(b)(1) and (c)(1)—which together forbid Federal Firearms Licensees from selling handguns to 18-to-20-year-olds—violate the Second Amendment.

The reelection of President Trump is already paying great dividends for the Second Amendment, even at this early stage. Beyond the obvious jettisoning of the most anti-gun administration to ever occupy the White House, we saw the anti-gun director of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) decide to quit prior to Trump’s inauguration.

Lawmakers in Illinois have a long track record of irrational gun bans and restrictions based on the idea that public safety is best served by disarming criminals and law-abiding citizens alike, even if that means putting innocent individuals at a heightened risk of injury and death.
Today, the National Rifle Association, along with the Gun Owners’ Action League, Commonwealth Second Amendment, Firearms Policy Coalition, Second Amendment Foundation, Gun Owners of America, and an individual, Mack Escher, filed a lawsuit challenging Massachusetts’s prohibition on the possession and carry of handguns and semiautomatic firearms by adults under 21.
U.S. Representatives Riley Moore (R-WV-02), Richard Hudson (R-NC-09), and Andy Barr (R-KY-06) have introduced H.R. 1181, the Protecting Privacy in Purchases Act. This crucial legislation would prohibit credit card companies from tracking constitutionally protected purchases like firearms and ammunition.
U.S. Representative Rob Wittman (R-VA-01) recently reintroduced H.R. 556, the Protecting Access for Hunters and Anglers Act. This bill would prohibit the Secretary of the Interior and the Secretary of Agriculture from arbitrarily banning the use of traditional ammunition on federal land or water under the jurisdiction of the Department of the Interior and the Department of Agriculture.
