Night calling camo?

Pretty sure most wear camo because that’s probably their warmest clothing. I even wear a lightweight long sleeve breathable camo shirt during the hot months. It’s always tucked in for tick deterrent and so it doesn’t interfere with my Thermacell hanging off my back belt loop, lol!

I admit that I will wear a camo hoodie and face mask (gator) a lot of times while calling but I have killed a hell of a lot of coyotes wearing a plaid jacket and wrangler britches. I hunt with a buddy who I am pretty certain thinks going afield with anything light of camo skivvies is a sin and he can't figure out how I can conceal myself enough to kill a coyote. I think it has much more to do with wind and movement than it does actually "concealing" one's self. Obviously hiding yourself is going to help but as long as the wind is working the way you want it to, you have a good backdrop to break up your outline and you keep movement to a minimum, you're going to kill a coyote (If they are present). At night, I've called and killed coyotes from the window of a pickup, playing a Johnny Stewart cassette tape in the dash parked in the middle of a pasture. I'm certain that's not what the question is aimed at but I don't feel camo is going to give anyone an advantage over the next guy that shows up wearing a pair of Carhart bibs, given that the guy in bibs understands that wind and movement will play into your success.

I dont wear anything bright (white T-shirts, anything neon in color). But i also feel that straight Black could appear as a shadow in the bright moon nights.
Most of my coats are some type of broke up camo or a green(ish) color depending on the time of year. Or a broke up snow camo in the snow.

I find it more important to have a background. I very rarely stand in a open field with nothing to break up my silhouette unless it is DAAARK. I try to stand with my back to tree lines, barns or even just a shadow. On those bright moon nights its not hard to find a nice dark shadow on the tree line. During the day thats a different story but in reference to night hunting this is my tactic.

I would prefer dark grey but I am almost always night hunting in a black Carhart jacket with a camo turkey vest with a hanging seat.

At night, especially with snow, everything is black and white and I always try to sit up against something dark and then you blend right in. Ive had luck wearing nearly all black even out in the middle of snowy fields, If you can sit up on a higher spot with a dark tree line even far behind you, you will blend in with the dark tree line. If you are wearing dark clothes you will blend in with anything dark behind you, close or far away.

I believe the Swiss military is or used to do white legs and green tops, theyre in the snowy evergreens. I never tried that but I like the idea of white pants and dark top.
