The AN/PVS-12 (WS2150), also known as the Aquila, is a dedicated 4x Night Vision Weapon Scope. In use by U.S. Warfighters for short – intermediate range engagements, it has proven a rugged and dependable scope able to withstand the rigors of the battlefield. The AN/PVS-12 is able to detect a human from over 1,500 meters with a ¼ moon, making it very useful for overwatch positions and snipers. Animals, such as a coyote, can be detected from about 1,000 meters. This makes the AN/PVS-12 Aquila a great choice for hunters as well.

The AN/PVS-12 Aquila is designed to be mounted on semi automatic and automatic rifles with M1913 Picatinny rails. The windage/elevation adjustments are designed for 5.56x45mm and 7.62x51mm NATOrounds. Windage and Elevation adjustments are 0.2 mR per click with best focus ranging from 25 meters to infinity. The Aquila features a Mil-Dot type illuminated reticle.

Aquila’s are ideal for sniper/ over-watch applications. The 4x fixed magnification is ideal for fast target acquisition due to its wider field of view. The Aquila can be[span style='font-weight: bold;'] weapon-mounted, tripod-mounted, or hand-held[/span] for 4x magnified night vision viewing. The objective lens gathers a tremendous amount of light and provides incredibly bright images with very crisp details. It easily rivals the RAPTOR seriesin clarity. Even without an infrared illuminator, individual branches and leaves in trees can be discerned from over 100 yards. Controls are easily accessible and operated without viewing them. The windage/elevation controls are designed for combat conditions and therefore require a flat head screw driver for adjustment. This helps to insure they are not accidentally turned while moving in the field. They feature positive click adjustments.

Gents I gotta say, these Mil Spec housing units are bomb proof, pound nails with em' and the coated optics bring in the best light transmission and produce some amazing contrast. I like these units a whole bunch! They were the direct competition to the Raptor line a few years back. Stock production Raptors are no longer produced.

Which Illuminator would a guy use to see a human at 1,500 meters ad a coyote at 1,000 meters??

I looked long and hard at these during shot show and I have the 6x they looked like they will hold up to long night in the field in the buggy or truck rack

That is correct. There is no more generic L3 tubes for these systems we've been using. What we will not do is install cheap import (Russian) or other cheaper import tubes and sacrifice performance. Therefore we now have full L3 Omni 8 tubes going into these systems with higher signal to noise and gain for both the 4x and 6x Aquila's.

Thanks guys

I have it narrowed down to these two nv devices.
Aquila is $4500 D760 $ not sure??

Thanks guys

Do to the enormous glass and coatings, the 6x will bring in more light and both the 4x and 6x Aquila's will show better contrast down range. The glass on the Aquila's are top notch, the best glass in the business for light through transmission.

Also, these units as many know are built like tanks and you can literally pound nails with the body housings.

Hope this helps.

Family Guy,
Are you saying you would take the Aquila4x over the D760?

picked out a feral cat last night at 200 yards and could easily ID it Ok it did have a head like a bastard cat, but just the same. I love my 6x Aquila
