Mmm, beer!

Memorable Quote

"You can't be a real country unless you have a beer and an airline. It helps if you have some kind of football team or some nuclear weapons, but at the very least you need a beer."

—Frank Zappa (1940-1993)

One of my favorite beer quotes, from the one and only Homer Simpson. If I recall the episode correctly, he was trying to complete his GED.

All right, brain, I don't like you, and you don't like me—so let's just do this, and I'll get back to killing you with beer.

When I was younger(1966) one of the Milwaukee news paper headlines was of two boys that were locked in a railcar full of empty beer bottles returning to the brewery. They spent 13 days living on stale beer left in the bottom of bottles, they arrived at the brewery and found in pretty good condition.

While looking up the dates I came across another instance of young fellows getting locked in a returning railcar of empty beer bottles. It was in 1998 and they spent 8 days locked in the car and survived on stale beer again in pretty good condition at the end of the ordeal.

Modelo Negra for me. Used to drink a Black Dog that was made up in Montana. They quit making it. I tend to like it a little stout.
When Becks dark bit the dust, Modelo Negro stepped up to the plate. Dos Equis Ambar is not terrible, but can't touch MN.

I like just about anything but IPA's. I love me some Micheladas. I'll buy whatever is cheap and put some Clamato in it and Jugo for added flavor. Just by itself I like Tacate or Sol. I'm a Mexican beer kind of guy I guess. But then again I enjoy a Bloody Mary so maybe I'm just a Clamato guy. To a point when it comes to most beer a beer is a beer. It don't make a bit of difference to me what I drink if it's cold and it's hot outside.

I do love me some beer in Clamato or Tomato juice though. It's pretty good stuff.

I'll also drink Angry Orchard, Redds, Twisted Tea or something like that every now and again. Last time my buddies and I went fishin I got some Angry Orchard. That stuff will sneak up on ya. It goes down pretty easy when it's hot outside. But admittedly I've been known to take down some beers. Especially when I was younger. Got kicked out of many establishments as a younger guy because beer was going down pretty easy. Not proud of that but hell I ain't a liar so I'll admit it. I've always been ornery. Ain't no sense in denying it to anyone. My dad was an alcoholic, my dads dad was an alcoholic so I try to be careful with that. But if I said I never raised no hell I'd be bold faced lyin to you. I've done my share.

Weirdest beer I've ever tried was that beer with the pepper in it. It was cold from the ice but hot from the pepper floating in it.

Beer is beer - except that crap I got in Tijuana. Craft stuff - like fufu coffee, ugh. Haven't done much boozing in a long time, she gived me a glass of wine once in a while.

I remember the Long Bar, oh my goodness what terrible beer. I lived in San Diego and as soon as I turned 18 it was on. Nasty green beer. Ughhhhhhhhhhh.
