Tonight I got called a "liberal whack job" over in the Church of the Painful Truth and then when I offered a suggestion to a poster in the Hand Calls forum it was like I was trying to take business away from one of the hobby call advertisers there.

Just too much "my way or the highway" on this forum, so I'll bid you all farewell and hope all your hunts are safe and productive. Time to move on.

Sometimes things are said at this time of the year because folks aren't getting out and shooting as much. You're too valuable a member to let them get you down. Take a day or so to think about it, then start sharing your information, tips and opinions again. Sometimes we may have real battles here, or on any other message boards we may frequent. It's nothing that can't be patched up and forgotten after a while.

TheHuntedOne,

Hey, Sometimes things happen, dont let it get ya down! People say and do things from time to time but were all here for the same reason! Temps build and things get said it passes in a few days! Hang around and it will get better!

TheHuntedOne,
I haven't read what your referring to in the church. If you are concerned about the thing in the hand call forum your to darn sensitive. I know you were giving an alternative. That's all I was doing also. He ask for options and I showed him mine and then talked about the advatages of customs.
I didn't get my panties in a wad about it and say I was leaving the board. Lighten up or life's gonna by no fun.

Sure does Tony,
Tis the season (or off season)I guess. Some people get sooo testy this time of year. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

This post peaked my interests so I found and read both of those posts you are referring to. As for the Hand Call one...I personally can't comprehend why you feel betrayed. You gave great advice. Not everyone wants to pay for a custom. I thought it ended nicely and you two handled it like adults. As for the Church of Painful Truth...I don't agree with hardly a thing you say over there, but hey, that's just me and I'm not one to jump in the middle of a riot (unless one of my buddies is getting mistreated /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif ). It's easy to see how people get up in arms in that forum. BTW...Thanks, Stu. Not a whole lot of people would try to moderate over there.

Now maybe that one fella "crossed the line" with you, but I hope you can still stick around. I've enjoyed your posts regarding what PM is really about...predator hunting. Also, I can't help but respect you for your 20+ years of service to me and this country. Thanks. I hope you decide to hang around here some more.

God Bless,

Joel

I may be sensitve. I field test the Loudmouth. that alway's a tough one to talk about. I wish I could say more but something alway's happen's. so I dont say anything about it.on the post I would of said something to me it sounded like why pay 50.00.Yellerdog make's a great call. Let's just get along. there is a few people who resent is hobby call maker's.I just want to put picture's of my call's with no Hassle's. Rick

Description under Chuch of the painful Truth
You Shall Know The Truth, and The Truth Shall Piss You Off
The church forum is a place for heated debates, if someone upsets you then don't reply to that thread anymore. No need to go whinning about it on the rest of the forum, you have alot of useful information that has helped out alot of people and there's no telling what else you have to offer. Don't just pack up and leave just because you got upset with someone, we're all adults here maybe we should act like adults. Stick around no need to leave the site. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

I've been called worse... Recently.

It's only the 'net. I find this stuff more ineresting than the TV. At the point it becomes non-enjoyable to me I take a "sabbatical", but I always turn up again in the future.

Heck, a person can only read sooo much junk about stinkin' AR15's before they need to get away. Usually though, I don't advertise that I'm taking leave.

HuntedOne, do what we do here in the Hills, FEUD. Nothing like taking a few pot shots at a one of them thare "edjkated knowitalls" to take the edge off a long hard day. Just try to keep the back biting and eye gouging to a reasonable limit. No slandering each others Mother's.
Now have at it! kyray.

TheHuntedOne, technically you didn't get called a "liberal whack job". An implication was made. But so what? I don't think he really believes that, but he DID want to get your goat. And he did!

Traditionally, bonafide "liberal whack jobs" do not last long on this board. Opposing viewpoints will argue until exhausted, and then call it a draw. On the other hand, the whack jobs have such a limited spectrum they just keep repeating the same drivel over and over and eventually resort to personal attacks which gets them booted off the board.
Your arguments and retorts were legitimate and thought provoking. Maybe not popular, but insightful never the less. Just look at all the deep thoughts it stimulated.

The "Church" is a Forum where we can go to rant and rave. How often do we get to really exercise our brains? Your comments promote mental calisthenics and force one to think before speaking. Stick around. This is all just a drill, anyway. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

If you're going to engage in political discussions, it's a real good idea to wear a thick hide for the purpose. Things get heated up.

If you get too pissed off, your blood pressure gets too high, whatever, go away for a while, take a break and cool off. When you're in the mood for more fun, c'mon back. There'll most likely be someone around to argue with /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Take all the advise given. I have. The church is a place that I go once in awhile to check out the latest fire fights. I may join in now and again depending how my day went and what kind of mood I'm in. Usually though it's a quick skim, a couple chuckles, and keep my finger off the reply button.

thehuntedone hmmmmmm do you "feel" hunted or as if you are running or hiding?? My sister is a counselor, thats the kinda questions she asks.LOL /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
As far as I remember this is America, (yup the greatest country on earth) you get to say what you want and we all get to defend your right to do so.
If you are gonna offer an opinion ya better be tough enough to take other folks opinions about what ya say.
I been called alot worse than whack job. Some folks earned a blackeye fer that, some earned respect for a thought out idea.
Get over it, move on, and lets talk about huntin!

DAMMIT, HE'S GONE JIM!!

Nope, but I always find it interesting that the "goodbye" threads that people start because someone pissed them off, or the black helicopters are coming for them, or they've had some life changing epiphany always seem to drag on forever. It'd almost be nice to have a board policy of just locking down a thread after its author has offered his final words. Kind of a professional courtesy if you will allowing the dearly (or not so dearly) departed to get the last word.
