Lightweight 30 cal Cans

Looking to get a 30 cal can for my lightweight stalking rig and it will double on my grandson's 6x6.8 SPC.

Anyone have a Banish Backcountry and your thoughts?

If you know of a can that might be lighter because of direct thread and suppress' just as good, post up.

The TBAC Ultra 7 is a very light can at 9.8oz for the direct thread version and their Ultra 9 is 11.8oz If you go with either and use their CB NTB mount it only adds a couple tenths to those numbers. For a 1.5 diameter can the Ultra 7 & 9 are as good as you can get.

For a larger than 1.5 diameter can the Dead Air Nomad LTi is a very impressive can and their new LTi XC is supposed to be even a little lighter and maybe even slightly quieter but I don't think Dead Air has finished up and released any of the new LTi XC cans yet but if you aren't in a hurry it could be one to wait for.

FYI-Banish Backcountry weighs 7.8 oz and with/adapter weighs 9 oz and Scythe-Ti weighs 7.3 oz and w/5/8 thread actual weight 8.4 oz (if memory serves).
Not much difference in weigh really between any of them so will have to consider length, diameter. db rating, changeable diameter of hole on end caps too.

Appreciate the info and reply.

Wyoming Arms has the lightest direct thread Ti cans I've found. They have a 4" that weighs 4oz and a 5" that weighs 5 oz (user serviceable) which are geared towards hunting and one shot. 139-140db at the shooters ear is the downside for me.

Edit: Got to hear a 5", 6", 7" and 9" cans and wow what a difference the length/diameter (volume) makes as far as sound. I will not be going smaller than a 7" @ 1.5" diameter.

I just went to my dealer for a pre-order (not released yet) on the Dead Air Nomad Ti XC (S) in FDE which is 6 3/4" long and a diameter of 1.7" with a total weight of 9.6 oz with mounts.

As Squid posted, check out DDC. They are very similar to Dead Air. I have their Enticer L and it is very quiet. They have a titanium version that's lighter. I don't know if they fixed it, but Dead Air was having big issues a while back.

That's old news and Dead Air corrected the issues. I went to several places where I got to hear many suppressors and got to see the metering numbers and I'm very happy with the choice made. DDC Enticer did well (on many different platforms) and the Wolf Hunter did ok and are not bad choices, especially for the money. As soon as the PTR Vent becomes available, I'll be purchasing it too.,

I learned not to be hung up on metering numbers and it was amazing how the different materials, baffles, size, etc. produced different tones and perceived loudness.
