I know, I do the best I can to not stick my barrel in the snow or ground, I just like to put something over the end, before I got the suppressor I put black electrical tape over the end don't if I can do that with a suppressor.
Clear packing tape (thin) would work. Duct tape probably too thick. Will have to watch for moisture condensation in the barrel. Guy in Alaska just used the balloon trick, shots were fine. Some have used 'finger' cots - possibly a cheap latex glove appropriately attached.
