Hunting coyotes with hounds

Early 60's I started hunting Red Fox with sighthounds(we spot stalked). Then circa;1968-69, we hunted coyotes with the addition of trail hounds. Over all of those years. I met numerous farmer/coyote hunters. Who also either used sighthounds & or the combination of both sight & trail hounds as they hunted coyotes. One coyote hunter/farmer who only used trail hounds. He shown us a 75 lb canine (pelt). In his out building. His daughter killed it with her shotgun. That pelt looked just like a Red Fox, as for it's fur coloration & it's tail. But it's pelt was the size of a wolf pelt. What was the genetic make up of that canine? I have no idea.

Circa; 1971, I hunted coyotes a few days. With a farmer/coyote hunter. In another area of my home state. His group used both sight hounds & trail hounds. He had a massive size Greyhound that stood 39" at the shoulder. It was his kill dog. That greyhound was tan color with a dark blue muzzle. He told me one day. They kicked up a 65 lb all black coyote. He said that coyote had a white elongated star/patch on it's chest. That was the only coyote that took his kill dog. Quite awhile to get the upper hand on it. As those two battled it out.

I estimated some years back. Averaging out my yearly coyote sightings over my hunt years. I've seen 2500 or so +/- coyotes. Those included Family groups, pairs & singular coyote sightings. Those coyotes also included nomad/transient coyote groups. I've seen a handful of coyotes that looked coyote to me. But were extra ordinary large. In the 50 lb + bracket. I've killed a 50 lb male coyote. I killed one female coyote, that was just shy of 50 lbs. I killed `another male that was larger than the 50'lber I killed in a previous year.

I seen 1x. A large coyote that looked all coyote to me. But it had extremely long flowing body hair. Like that of a long haired collie. What it's DNA make up was, I have no idea. But out of all of the coyotes I've seen. I've never seen another one like it. As for its body hair length.

During my coyote hunting years. Most of the coyotes I've hunted. I gave them a free pass & just observed them in their natural setting. I wanted to learn their behaviors. As they interacted with each other.

By the way. I have a question for the anointed ones on here.

Question; Will a coyote or Red Fox. Use a den hole other than for rearing their young? If they will or will not? Explain why?

Here another question for the experts.

Example; 1 square mile section surrounded by gravel roads. That section is "table top flat". In the middle of that mile section is a bedded coyote. Wind is blowing from due north, blowing south.

Using a clock dial. The coyote being in the middle. Which direction would you close the gap for a shot? Explain your tactic.

Coyotes-..not really. The female may use them consecutively to birth but they aren't living out of them.
Most dens here are under blow downs, root outcroppings or where the farms cleared fields and pushed all the stumps and soil to edges.
So should it be convenient they may stop at it but most coyotes here just curl up out of the weather.

Fox here like to use woodchuck holes a lot for dens. They seem to use them more throughout the summer since woodchuck and mice are a main source of food for them.

As per usual. Side step my questions. More deflect & project. Are you a liberal? Asking for a friend. lol!
Joe, when I answer your questions, you don't understand the explanations, or you ignore them, I'm not certain which. I've literally begged you to search the internet for the resolutions to the things we have debated, and you either can't or won't do it. If you spent more time researching these things and less time vomiting incorrect information on this forum, you wouldn't be met with such resistance every time you post something..

Serious question:

Have you searched for the answer to the question: "can canines have blue hair?".

I hope the answer teaches you that you don't know as much as you imagine you do, probably not just about this, but likely other things in your life as well..

I've read & researched information/biology findings/opinions for many years on canids. Since the early 60's on. Your assessment on what I know & or have seen. Is off it's mark. You & a handful of other "experts' on here. Desire to try & put me in my place. You & they are laughable. Now answer my questions I posed. Know it all.

So Joe, for the 8th time (at least), can canines have blue hair?
