Huge coyote

I saw A (1) jack rabbit the last time I was out. That's the first one I've seen locally in several years.
It's so dry here even the creasote bushes are dying. All the small game guzzlers are bone dry.

About every 50 coyotes here I'll get one over 40lbs. The heaviest I've ever killed was 44lbs. I've only killed a handful over 40lbs in my life. That's West/middle TN and the surrounding area..

Hunted out west a few times, (most of the states in the rocky mountain range), and big mature males were low 30's where I went. It's like deer, but opposite.

Well we over here are shooting eastern coyotes which are bigger. He skins on average 500 coyotes a year and the local coyote pool usually has one around 55 that wins it every year.
Oh i believe it. Yotes out east are bigger. Supposedly from wolf genetics. Out here, they aint that big. But people will say they are. Most guys just dont know their aholes from their belly buttons. Ill give you an example:
Talked to. A guy cutting firewood in the mountains. Now take in mind, a friend of mine is a biologist who has weighed a lot of lions, live and dead. Between studies and depredation removals. The biggest cat hes ever treed was 197lbs. Well this joker told me hehad a lion in his back yard that "musta been 230, 240lbs!!!" So he called a houndsman who promptly brought a 90llb cat out of the woods, "which means there were 2 of them there!" 🤣

66#?...Have to ask...Certified scale?
I dont know but this guy doesn't exaggerate. He has nothing to gain he has a hanging scale. Though he has weighed some of mine in past and they werent off from my scale at home. I know the coyotes shot in the more populated areas of Massachusetts and southern NH have bigger coyotes due to more food be it domestic animals rodents and even trash.

Killed my biggest a few years ago guessed him at 50 got ridiculed pretty good here;he was full of creep feed.Usually 30 to 35 is a big 1 where I hunt.Of course there are freaks of nature, look at the 7 foot basketball players

If you killed one 40-45lbs in western pa where I live it’s a big one. I hear the same exaggeration as many of you. A well furred up coyote can look much bigger than it really is… tbey also look big in the summer when they appear to be really tall long legged with a smaller coat.
