Going back to handgun hunting this year been dragging my muzzleloader up and down the hills the last 10 years during deer season either the guns getting heavier or the hills higher, and where I hunt the shots are usually well under 100yrds.
So what are you carrying your cannon in scoped or iron sights revolver or single shot pistol just looking for new holster ideas.

I use the Uncle Mike's shoulder holsters as well for my Contender and my Magnum Research BFR. One of these days I want to get a nicer leather one from these guys
Pistol Holsters

For a shoulder rig you need to get their "Bandito" belt and a holster....top notch stuff for sure.

I'm liking the looks of this one for lion chasing:

Currently carry my .500 Linebaugh in an El Paso Saddlery Tom Threepersons floral carved holster and cartridge belt for big game hunting.

I finished up a Tom Threeperson's for my 5" model 60. I can't argue with 5 158gr cast SWCs at about 1300 fps for protection and curing lead deficiency in various targets of opportunity.

I've had it out calling and rabbit hunting a few times since I finished stitching it up. It really carries nice and draws fast.

Assorted holsters depending on pistol. I have multiple Uncle mikes. Typically I carry set up in cross draw fashion.

UM Bandoleer holster. Since it is cordura, it can be noisy if left to brush up against things such as brush and clothing. But other than that, I love mine.

For the semi-auto pistols, I use this system:

By Specter Gear.

For my Savage Striker, I have a mini sling. That hand cannon
refuses to be holstered! That and the darn bolt would
dig into me, if there was holster for it.

i carry my ruger redhawk 5.5" 44 mag in a galco dual action outdoorsman worn as a cross draw setup its a very nice holster and makes carrying the big ruger a breeze

I just got the Guides Choice from Diamonddcustom ,the site posted above. It is sort of expensive but if you want to use it a long time then hand it down someday, this holster will do that but its not to rough, well made,I would take a look at it.I have a 6"629 in mine.

if your uncle mikes is noisy just take some felt or other cloth and hot glue it to the face of it or glue strips of velcro and velcro a piece of soft cloth. I bought some camo fleece at walmart and its quiet and blends well

I customize my slings by adding an adjustable snap to give it more adjustability for loosening and tightening. It's really a necessity if you have to stalk on all 4's for any distance--

I use the same holster for my Redhawk's it's one of my favorites
I also like the Diamond custom definately worth looking into. These are some of the holsters I'm using now

the top rig is by Bighorn Leather for my 5.5" Ruger single actions, then a Simply Rugged for the 4" Redhawk then Galco outdoorsman for 5.5" Redhawk
